🟠 🛰️ Happy International GNSS Day!

Today, 23 October, we celebrate the satellite systems that underpin positioning, navigation and timing—and the people who turn those signals into practical solutions.

At Mangoesmapping, we see the value of GNSS across surveying, mapping, agriculture, construction and infrastructure. From locating assets to guiding machinery, accurate positioning helps teams work efficiently and make informed decisions.

The day also highlights the importance of resilient positioning systems, including addressing challenges such as jamming, spoofing and space weather.

And why 23 October? Written as 10/23, the date celebrates GPS’s fundamental frequency of 10.23 MHz. It’s also a good excuse to share some chips with your colleagues—a nod to the “chips” in GNSS spreading codes!

Grant Mills had six property pins in British Columbia that he couldn’t fix for over three years, all under heavy tree cover.

With a new Emlid Reach RS4 base and RS4 Pro rover, he got a fix on all six without moving into the clear, each within 3 cm of the plans.

All-band tracking gives the receivers more satellites to work with through the canopy and cleaner signals despite the branches. His older receivers, tested on the same pins, never left float.

Emlid Corrections is now available directly in PIX4Dcatch! 😀

In the latest Emlid Tech Digest, Zoltán Biber shares an update that makes getting started with smartphone scanning even easier.

From PIX4Dcatch 2.50.0, Reach RX and RX2 users can access Emlid Corrections directly in the app—without manually entering NTRIP addresses, ports, credentials or mount-points.

Here’s how to get connected:

- Activate Emlid Corrections in Emlid Flow.
- Connect your Reach RX or RX2 to PIX4Dcatch via Bluetooth.
- Open RTK device settings and create a new RTK profile.
- Under RTK rover, select your Reach RX or RX2.
- Under NTRIP, PIX4Dcatch will automatically detect Emlid Corrections and configure the connection.

For PIX4D & Emlid Scanning Kit users, this means simpler access to RTK corrections for accurately geotagged 3D scans, ready for processing in PIX4Dcloud or PIX4Dmatic.
