🐄 Dr Don and Easy Boss E at the Waroona Show!🐄

What a day! Dr Don, the Cow Boss Vet, had the Easy Boss E on show at Waroona today at the 95th Annual Show.
It was great to have a yarn with so many farmers, stud breeders, livestock handlers and families who stopped by.
A few devices found new homes today and a big THANK YOU to everyone who came for a look and a chat. 🙌

Handmade in WA by Don himself, the Easy Boss E is a handy bit of kit for drenching, vaccinating, tagging, mouthing, calving, AI, freeze branding and general handling - too many uses to name!
Made in WA, working for cattle people worldwide. 🌏

A special shout-out to the women in agriculture. 👩‍🌾 Don reckons women tend to be more innovative and more open to trying distraction techniques for calmer, safer cattle handling, and it's always a pleasure talking shop with you.

We're a real family business, making and sending these out from right here in WA. Thanks to the Waroona Show crew for a terrific event! 👏

What’s a DODI??? 🐂👶🏼

Dr Don, the Cow Boss Vet treats a Murray Grey cow with an injection of antibiotics for her hoof abscess. Dr Don shows the benefits of oral distraction with the Easy Boss E, and the difference distraction handling techniques can make when you work with animals.

Stick me in the eye with a needle, said NO COW EVER!!
But here we are Dr Don, working on this animal and injecting Duplocillin firstly into the palprebral subconjunctiva and secondly into the bulbar subconjunctiva.
She had already been treated for pain control and inflammation yesterday and also got a dose of Optimune topical ophthalmic antibiotic.
After the penicillin her eye is patched to protect the healing process from dust and flies.

Look away if you don’t like needles!
Easy Boss E helped keep her under control, maybe not as much as other breeds of cattle, but certainly distracted from the panic that often happens when restrained.

🐃🐂🐄The Ones Who Know Cattle🐄🐂🐃

Before the sun's properly up, when the golden light is burnishing the rails there's already a woman at the yards.

Her boots are dusty and her hair's tied back with that bailing twine from the floor of the ute. The cattle know her voice before they see her and she reads a mob the way other people read a face. She notices the one that's off her feed, the heifer about to calve, the cow that's had enough.
She's drenching, tagging, vaccinating and mouthing and she patient when the job needs patience and fast when it doesn't.

The Agricultural workforce has a considerable portion of women across a huge selection of roles.
She might be the manager, the contractor, the stud breeder, or the mum doing it all with a toddler on her hip. She also might be the vet who drove two hours to get there. Women make up around 63% of Australia's veterinary workforce, and about 80% of recent graduates. About a third of the agricultural workforce are women too. Anyone who's worked cattle knows the industry would stop without them.

Easy Boss E gives a big shout out to the women of Queensland, where a high share of Easy Boss E devices are sold. Queensland runs around 45% of Australia's beef cattle, accounts for roughly 43–45% of national cattle slaughter, and holds 55% of all cattle on feed. It's the engine room of Australian beef, and the women up there are a big reason why.

Want to read some of their stories? shares the remarkable experiences of everyday women living in rural and regional Australia.
The magazine began in 2015 when Claire Dunne, then 23, sat down at the kitchen table on a Central Queensland cattle station and, with zero publishing experience, started her own.
Today it's read by more than 100,000 people and includes the hugely popular podcast Life on the Land.

At Easy Boss E, we've always valued the work women do in agriculture. Their skill, patience, care and innovation make this industry what it is today and sow the seeds of hope it has for the future.
