Deidre dared to dream about a theatre and she has made that a spectacular reality at PIP Theatre. Purpose In Performance. 🎭
A development and experimental, inclusive space for theatrical and entertainment growth. I’ve seen some outstanding shows in the last 3 years in this brilliant intimate theatre that genuinely gives talent a space to flourish and audiences an up close and personal theatre experience with all the best feels.
The Toucan Club is a fun cabaret concept …this Valentine’s Day Deidre starred in Daggy Duets where all the feels of love were sung, cried and laughed about. I was lucky enough to promote a different show ( more on that later) but HAD to see hers as well … thank you Deirdre for the laughs and fun. Of all the skills I’ve worked hard to polish in my life… I never thought I’d win a prize on Valentines weekend for folding a f&cking fitted satin sheet after questioning out loud the secrets to a happy marriage. I won’t do that again so close to the stage but I’ll take the chokkies - all wins must be celebrated! You certainly know how to make life fun - I think that’s the actual secret. 💜
Stay tuned people … more Toucan Club fun is coming! You won’t want to miss it… although my public laundry skills may have been a one night only side show! Adrenaline is powerful and I surprised myself getting the sheets folded the first go but I prefer other ( much less public) thrills in satin.
Thanks Harrison (Toucan Producer Extrodinaire) for the covert camera work - now that I have proof of the skill I can use it as training material and hopefully move into more of a management role in the laundry space )

Synergy by Global sculptor Mike Van Dam won Sculptors Queensland Outdoor Sculpture Award 2025.
Composed of six interlinked pieces, each link is made from 316 marine-grade stainless steel chain.
“It’s about working together to create something greater than one individual could do. Each link is welded together to form larger, stronger links. Like people, families, or communities, stronger together,” Van Dam explains. He gave us a close up explanation during install and encourages viewers to touch and feel his work.,
Van Dam’s piece is on display at the Brisbane Sculpture Festival at Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, Brisbane until October 10th.
