After WFT Founder and Structural Engineer Aleks Jovanovic finished bolting the garage structural steel into place, it was time for Metal Fabricator David Box to inspect the handiwork.

A quick review, everything looking as it should — and David’s happy. We’ll call that a pass!

Here, the custom-fabricated corner steel section is carefully craned into position, ready to be aligned and bolted to the main structural steel beams.

It’s a great look behind the scenes at what goes into structural steel installation — from precise fabrication and preparation on the ground to lifting, positioning and connecting each element on site.

A look back at The Bookstore in Glebe, a project that required significant structural steel works as part of an extension to an existing heritage building.

Working in Glebe presented its own set of challenges. Tight, narrow streets made access and steel delivery difficult, while careful planning was needed to allow the bookstore at the front of the building to remain operational throughout construction at the rear.

It’s the type of project where fabrication is only part of the job — logistics, sequencing and installation all need to work together.

A flashback to The Poolhouse in Chatswood, where structural steel provided the framework for something a little more indulgent.

The clients chose a structural steel solution built over a concrete slab to create the framework for their decadent new poolhouse — combining strength, versatility and clean structural lines to bring the design to life.
