An EASY way to check for REO compliance when you're on the job site:

❓Was the REO supplied by an SRIA Member?

👍> No further action required. All SRIA members MUST hold
3rd Party Processor Certification from a JASANZ accredited organisation.

👎> Ask the Builder / Concreter to provide a JASANZ accredited 3rd Party Processor Certification to prove the REO complies.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT: If the Steel Reinforcement does not comply with Australian Design Standards then the structure is at risk of failure. All Bar and Mesh must have JASANZ accredited 3rd Party Processor Certification to prove it complies with ASNZS 4671, AS 3600, AS 5100.5 and AS 2870.

When the inspector says, “Show me your REO Compliance Certificate”, there’s only one right answer.

If the REO doesn’t comply – it comes out!

✅ SRIA members supply steel reinforcement proven to meet Australian Standards AS/NZS 4671, AS 3600, AS 5100.5 and AS 2870 through 3rd party JAS-ANZ accredited certification.

👷‍♂️ Engineers and builders — this is your chance to support Australia’s need to repurpose, rather than demolish, older reinforced concrete structures to meet future generational needs.

The Historical Guide to Steel Reinforcement in Australia is an invaluable reference tool for designers wishing to adapt and conserve older reinforced concrete buildings and structures.

The 2-volume hardcover boxed set combines all relevant information on reinforcement, concrete, Standards, construction practices and detailing since Australia’s first reinforced concrete structure was built in 1895, including many previous printed industry publications and extracts from Codes and Standards that are now difficult, if not impossible, to source.

🛠️ Perfect for:
✔️ Structural & civil engineers
✔️ Builders & project managers
✔️ Engineering historians & educators

👷ATTENTION BUILDERS:

Please be advised that FRAUDULENT compliance certificates are being sent to customers of imported steel mesh. The unique bar markings on the mesh do not match the markings on the certificate.

**** You have 2 options to protect yourself ***

1. Check that the unique bar marking on the longitudinal and crossbars of the steel mesh MATCH the markings on the certificate.

EXAMPLE: The bar below has an N mark to show that the mesh was manufactured by Neumann Steel Pty Ltd. Download the supplier's AS/NZS 4671 compliance certificate at steelcertification.com. On p.2 of the certificate, you can verify the bar marks match >>>https://steelcertification.com/Certificates/Webpdfs_current/31105.pdf

2. Buy steel mesh from an SRIA PROCESSOR MEMBER.

A requirement for SRIA membership is AS/NZS 4671 product certification from an independent JASANZ accredited organisation.
