No matter what type of mower you've got, they all need loving!
At the start of the season it's a good idea to pull out your spark plug and see how it looks. If it is covered in black carbon or the electrode is corroded, it might be time for a new one.
đź‘€ Check out the article for more info on how to keep your mower running smooth this season!

Before firing up your new mower, knowing how to maintain it is key, especially in tough climates. There's nothing more frustrating than your mower conking out half way through your lawn on a scorching summer day. Mowing the lawn always sounds like a good idea until your mower is coughing and splutte...

We Unbox the Allett Liberty 43 Battery Powered Cylinder Mower

If you already take pride in your lawn and you want to get it to the level of your local golf course but your rotary push mower is just not getting you there then a cylinder mower is the answer. The clean cut and the rollers give cylinder mowers the edge in giving you a striped up, manicured finish every time.

Made in England since 1965, Allett mowers are a cut above when it comes to build quality, user friendliness and reliability. Add to that the quiet operation and low maintainence that comes with battery power and you've got the ultimate companion to turn your front lawn into a putting green this spring.

Thanks to Jacob "Itchy" Sincock for showing how it's done. Head over and give Sincock Property Maintainence a follow on on instagram. https://www.instagram.com/sincock_property_maintenance/

Super excited to bring you Spring Series Episode 1 - Spraying Broad Leaf Weeds!

As I drive down my street I can't help but notice the little white pom poms in my neighbours' lawns that indicate clover in almost every yard. Spraying your broad leaf w**ds is a simple step but it is so often neglected and taking the time to do it at the start of the growing season will put you a step ahead of the casual lawn owner.

I'm using Bow and Arrow in my Solo 411 sprayer. This is not a How-To video, I'm simply showing the steps I'm taking with gear I've got and I'll be showing you the results in future videos. If you're looking for an explainer on the technical details, head over and check out the man with the knowledge: /

When you think of a lawn mower, a rotary mower is probably what comes to mind. It's usually not until we have kids, retire from football and have to choose between meat smoking, triathlon and lawn care that we find out about cylinder mowers. A superior quality of cut is a major advantage over their horizontally spinning rivals, but it's not all good news for cylinder/reel mowers. Check out the article for the break down of pros and cons of each mower type to help you decide.

I'm glad you chose lawn care by the way.

Four decades after Edwin Budding’s cylinder mower invention in 1830, Elwood McGuire, an American, came forward with the idea of the rotary lawnmower. And so, the evolution began. These lawnmowers have evolved significantly, leading us to today's debate: cylinder mowers or rotary mowers, which is t...

🌱 Spring has sprung—it’s like lawn Christmas! 🌱

But if your lawn is still looking a bit sad, maybe it’s just waking up from winter dormancy, or perhaps there’s another issue at play: your mowing practices.

Ever noticed your lawn turning yellow or brown just a few days after mowing? It’s not just the weather—it could be due to some common mowing mistakes.

Here’s a sneak peek: Are you following the one-third mowing rule? If you’re cutting more than a third of your grass height, you’re putting it under unnecessary stress. And mowing too early in spring? That can cause yellow patches too. Your lawn needs time to bounce back after winter, so don’t rush that first mow!

And let’s not forget those mower blades! Blunt or rusty blades can cause jagged cuts, leading to those unsightly yellow patches. Keep those blades sharp—your lawn will thank you!

Check out our top Aussie Lawn Care Tip of the week! 🌿📹

Choosing the right lawn for your Australian garden depends on factors like climate, sunlight, and maintenance needs. Here are five top lawn types:

1. Soft Leaf Buffalo: Ideal for families and pets, it’s low-maintenance, drought-resistant, and self-repairing.
2. Zoysia Grass: Perfect for coastal areas and drought-prone gardens, it’s resilient to various weather conditions and low-allergenic.
3. Bermuda Grass: Suited for high-traffic areas, it’s hardy, low-water, and recovers quickly after winter.
4. Kikuyu Grass: Great for sunny areas and budget-friendly, though it struggles in shaded conditions.
5. Fescue Grass: Best for cooler climates and ornamental lawns, with new varieties reducing patchiness.
For convenience and consistency, turf installation is preferred over growing from seed, as it provides an even, ready-to-use lawn.
