Following R U OK? Day yesterday, we’re continuing to share how more of our teams across Australia and New Zealand took the time to come together, check in and support one another.

📍 Welshpool, WA

The Welshpool team stopped for a moment to have an open discussion around R U OK? Day, encouraging everyone to check in with their colleagues and make space for a private conversation if someone needed it. They also had the team from Hume Doors & Timber stop in with some goodies.

📍 Meadowbrook, QLD

The Meadowbrook team gathered for a morning tea and meaningful discussion led by Nathan V., who spoke about mental health awareness and the importance of creating an environment where people feel comfortable having open conversations. The team then enjoyed plenty of cupcakes and sausage rolls!

While R U OK? Day may have been yesterday, the message is one we can carry with us every day - look out for your mates, check in with your colleagues and make time for a conversation.

Like many of our locations across Australia and New Zealand, our Dry Creek team in South Australia came together this morning to mark R U OK? Day.

With the office decorated in yellow, the team took the time to reflect on the importance of checking in with one another - not just today, but each and every day.

A simple “R U OK?” can make a meaningful difference. 💛

Watch the moment Luke from Endeavor Homes found out he'd won a brand new BYD Shark 6 Ute from our James Hardie 'Win With Hardie' promotion.

Luke has been a valued customer of our Albion Park branch for many years, and watching his business grow and develop over that time has been genuinely rewarding.

He's a builder who backs quality products, regularly specifying James Hardie Linea and Axon Cladding across his projects in the Camden and South Coast regions of NSW, and days like this are our way of giving something back.

Ever wondered what winning a brand new ute feels like?

Last Friday, Luke from Endeavor Homes became the proud new owner of a BYD Shark 6 Ute, as the winner of our James Hardie 'Win With Hardie's' promotion.

Albion Park Branch Manager, Stephen Fife and Account Rep Peter Colgan from Big River Group joined Jay from James Hardie to deliver the prize in person.

Luke and Endeavour Homes have been long standing customers with our Albion Park branch - with Luke working in the Camden, South Coast area of NSW for multiple years. We couldn't have been happier to hand the keys over to Luke & his young family!

The 'Win With Hardie's' promotion is our way of saying thanks to the builders and customers who back us every day - and Luke, you absolutely deserve it!

We're proud to be supplying products for Mondo Constructions' 77 Townhouses development, currently progressing through to Module 3.

Products supplied include Tilling Timber Pty Ltd Floor Systems, James Hardie Secura Flooring & Axon Cladding, and ProBoard.

This is a fantastic one to be involved in - great work from our QLD Sales Manager, Chris, securing and supporting this supply.

This morning our Warana Trade Centre had the pleasure of co-hosting a fantastic trade event and BBQ on-site for Thompson Sustainable Homes!

We were joined by 20-30 tradies, along with senior management and office staff, for a great morning of connection, conversation and a good feed.

Our final award of the 2026 BRG Conference🏆

The CEO Award - 'Exceptional Business Impact' is the highest honour presented at the Big River Group Conference, awarded to an individual who has delivered exceptional results while demonstrating customer focus, commercial thinking, teamwork and a genuine commitment to making Big River Group stronger for the future.

This year's recipient: Brian Relph.

As CEO John Lorente shared when presenting the award: "We talk about knowledge, we talk about commitment, we talk about expertise - Brian Relph has all of these."

For 34 years and counting, Brian has given it his all - taking on any role needed and looking out for everyone who's come through our doors along the way. That kind of loyalty and commitment is exactly what this award is about.

Congratulations, Brian, on a truly well-deserved win - and to every single person who was part of making this conference one to remember.
