When it comes to selecting the right site exit solution, ensuring an informed choice is essential. Currently, the landscape of track-out control solutions predominantly features crushed rock, rumble grids, or a blend of both. Each option boasts its own array of benefits and drawbacks.

The FODS Rumble mat is the rising star in the field of sediment control. This innovative product is gaining traction (literally) among construction teams, particularly those spearheading major projects as a part of Victoria's Big Build, but also across NSW and Queensland.

Having introduced FODS to the Australian market half a decade ago, we've witnessed first-hand how Rumble Mats offer a more sustainable solution for site exit sediment control. It can even garner ISC Credits for projects applying for IS ratings.

In the attached document, you'll find a comprehensive comparison of the advantages and limitations between FODS Rumble Mats and Steel Rumble Grids.

In terms of effectiveness, our clients have reported an average improvement of over 35% compared to traditional methods.

Ready to Rumble? For more information about FODS, please visit our product website at www.fods.com.au.

In a recent project, our DURA-BASE® mats were instrumental in facilitating access for the team, who tackled the reinforcement of an eroded riverbank, removal of sediment build-up, and revegetation of the banks.
Situated in an estuarine environment, the project faced complications from tidal fluctuations, covering the work area at its highest point and turning the ground into a boggy, muddy pit.
The project team made an exceptional use of the mats, offsetting the mats and curving them to mimic the shape of the river.
Receiving positive feedback was gratifying, as the mats instilled confidence in the team to continue work despite the challenging ground conditions. We are grateful to be contributing to the outcome of projects like this, enhancing the longevity and health of our wetlands.
A big thanks to Klan Bros Earthmoving for having us on site and for letting us admire your work!

Ex-tropical cyclone Kirrily brought substantial rainfall to Northwest Queensland, resulting in significant damage to rail tracks along the Mt Isa Line and the suspension of all services. Despite persistent challenges from floods and heavy rainfall, Queensland Rail remains dedicated to expediting repairs and restoring normal operations as swiftly as possible.

In support of emergency response initiatives, we are honoured to supply Dura-Base® mats for the creation of temporary access tracks. Our dedicated team worked tirelessly to deliver over 2 kilometres of modular roads across the Outback, ensuring timely assistance to affected areas. A heartfelt thank you to our transporters for ensuring our mats safely reach where they are needed most.

Here is a sneak peek into the ground conditions where QR is undertaking all the repairs.

Jacko the Dura-Base® mat came back from its first job! In its first 7 days on the job at JWA, Jacko was sent out to protect the concrete and buried services from a 10-tonne tracked excavator, working at the edge of a public swimming pool on the Sunshine Coast.

Jacko and some of his mates from the Dura-Base® family played a crucial role enabling the site crew to progress the works safely, while protecting the council’s assets during the lighting tower upgrades.

The mats also allowed the works to progress with minimal disruption to the general operation and access to the pool.

Post-mission, we inspected Jacko for any wear and tear. Guess what? Nothing. Jacko returned, had a good soak, and now it's off to another job. What a trooper!

A couple of weeks ago, we welcomed the CEO of Newpark, who flew all the way from the US to visit our yard in the Sunshine State.

Apart from showcasing our facilities, (thanks to Toshi and the team for maintaining them in exceptional condition) we engaged in insightful discussions, delving deep into our operations, exchanging valuable insights, and brainstorming on ways to improve mat performance.

One of the key topics we discussed is and ways in which we can assist industries with .

Matthew Lanigan, we appreciate the visit and look forward to more collaborative ventures ahead!

"The Life of a Mat" is our exciting new project that will unveil insights into the journey our DURA-BASE® mats embark upon during their service life. While we know that DURA-BASE® mats can serve for decades and for multiple heavy-duty applications, but we've never embarked on the task to gather data across their service life to better understand their full potential.

For this adventure, we've selected three brand-new DURA-BASE® mats. Meet them as we've affectionately nicknamed them: J - Jacko, W - Wazza, and A - Ando. We've marked their initials in blue HDPE on both sides of the mats to make them easy to recognise by our expert service team as well as out in the field.

Throughout their journey, we will document various details from every job they are deployed on, including duration of scope, the ground conditions, the types of machinery used, and the specific application. We'll also keep records of any job-related impacts on the mats, where these impacts require servicing, documenting how long it takes our team to service them back up to peak condition. This process will provide us with a comprehensive understanding of the mats' full extended potential and capabilities.

Follow to stay tuned in and updated on Jacko, Ando and Wazza.

And if you happen to come across Jacko, Ando, or Wazza on a job site, feel free to snap a pic and share it with the hashtag. We anticipate a long and fascinating journey.

For Multicultural Queensland month, we at JWA had a great time celebrating our cultural diversity. Despite our compact team, we're a global squad representing 8 different countries and cultures. And if you dig a little deeper into our family trees, that diversity branches out even more.

Last week, JWA's inaugural multicultural potluck left us all in awe (and a food coma!). Our taste buds travelled the world, one bite at a time - Starting with borscht and pierogi, we had sushi, potato bake, Samoan chop suey, potato salad for mains, and finished off with koeksisters, peach float, the Scottish tablet and kopi.

Who knew that sharing a dish could be such an adventure?

It was not just about sharing the food and conversations to mark the month but it's the way we learn from each another and respect that each of us had a different upbringing every day.

Here's to the team that's not afraid to explore, taste, and celebrate the wonderful diversity that makes us who we are. Let's keep the spirit of our multicultural lunch alive, one bite (and one "yum!") at a time. 👏🍴
