CarbonCure Technologies CarbonCure Technologies offers the concrete industry a true win-win. Upon injection, CO₂ immediately mineralizes in concrete, becoming permanently embedded.

By adopting CarbonCure's technologies, concrete producers grow their profitability by mineralizing CO2, improving cement efficiency in each truckload and tapping into new revenue from high value CarbonCure carbon credits. CarbonCure's easy-to-adopt decarbonization platform delivers to concrete producers an integrated suite of hardware, software and services to reduce the carbon footprint of their concrete products, reduce their production costs and meet the surging demand for green building materials without compromising performance. CarbonCure’s technologies are retrofitted into concrete plants without disrupting operations and seamlessly integrate with existing batching processes. CarbonCure injects captured CO₂ across the concrete manufacturing process, with commercialized solutions for ready mix concrete, precast concrete and reclaimed water. Even if a structure is later demolished, the nanoparticles of mineralized carbon will not return to the atmosphere. This mineralization also improves concrete's compressive strength and enables producers to safely reduce the amount of cement needed for each batch of concrete, reducing operating costs. As a customer, concrete producers can also be rewarded for their sustainability efforts and tap into new revenue by participating in CarbonCure's carbon credit program. This , CarbonCure is celebrating Central Concrete and our collaboration to advance sustainable construction across the San Francisco Bay Area!

Over the last 70 years, Central Concrete has been a trusted supplier of high-performance ready-mix concrete throughout the Bay Area. With 11 locations and an extensive network of production facilities, Central Concrete delivers innovative concrete solutions for projects ranging from commercial buildings and technology campuses to transportation infrastructure and residential developments.

Sustainability and innovation have long been at the heart of Central Concrete's operations. The Central team has continued to lead the way in sustainable construction through advanced mix designs, recycled materials and investments in innovative technologies. This commitment to reducing the environmental impact of concrete while maintaining exceptional quality and performance is what brought Central Concrete and CarbonCure together.

As one of CarbonCure's earliest adopters, first installing and operating carbon mineralization technologies nearly a decade ago, Central Concrete has helped bring lower carbon concrete to projects across the Bay Area, including the LinkedIn Middlefield Campus and the University of California's Hastings College of the Law.
To date, Central Concrete has produced more than 151,000 truckloads of CarbonCure concrete, delivering more than 4,700 metric tons of CarbonCure CO₂ savings, the equivalent of taking 1,107 gas-powered cars off the road for a year!

A new report by Oxford Economics for the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) sends a clear signal: The question isn’t about whether the world will need more concrete. It’s about how the industry will deliver significantly more infrastructure, housing and resilience projects while reducing embodied carbon to meet demand.

Global construction activity is projected to grow more than 70% by 2050.

According to the report, this surge will be driven by housing, transportation, energy infrastructure, climate adaptation, manufacturing and data centers. At the same time, owners, specifiers and policymakers are placing more and more emphasis on embodied carbon.

For concrete producers, that means demand is shifting toward lower carbon concrete, not away from concrete. The competitive advantage will come from delivering more value per truckload through SCMs and cement alternatives, mix optimization, AI-assisted batching and carbon mineralization technologies.

As demand grows, producers that can provide proven, scalable cement (and associated emissions) reductions without disrupting operations will be well-positioned to win this business and build the next generation of resilient infrastructure.

“What stands out to me today is how well CarbonCure integrates into standard batching operations and, importantly, reliably stacks on top of a diverse range of mix designs, cement types, and cement replacements... The promise for producers is straightforward: Maintain the quality and performance customers expect; lower material costs and embodied carbon; create new revenue opportunities.”

We've got 12 million reasons to smile today!

😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Since the commercial launch of our technologies a decade ago, as of this morning, our concrete producer partners around the world have officially surpassed 12 million truckloads of carbon mineralized concrete made using our technologies!

That's a lot of concrete: more than 100 million cubic yards of CarbonCure concrete, in fact.

To put this in perspective, you could use those 100 million yards of concrete to build the Hoover Dam 31 times over. Those trucks could also line up, bumper to bumper, and not only would they would stretch around the Earth, they'd do that 3 times! 🌎 🌏 🌍

Behind those big numbers are thousands of projects, long-standing producer partnerships and years of scaling carbon mineralization in real-world concrete production.

A huge thank you to our team, our partners and especially our customers who made this latest milestone possible.

New data, consistent results.

Mixes incorporating CO₂ with ~4% cement reduction consistently achieve equivalence with baseline mixes. This has been demonstrated across a wide range of cement and SCM systems, including ASTM Types I/II and portland limestone cement, spanning the world.

It's backed by scale. Our producer partners have delivered nearly 12 million loads of CO₂-mineralized concrete across two dozen countries, reducing cement use across 76.3 million m³ of concrete and saving more than 828,000 metric tons of CO₂.
