For nearly 50 years, the family behind Dutch Heritage Greenhouse has been growing chrysanthemums in Chilliwack, BC.
But as production demands increased, maintaining consistency, especially through winter, became more challenging. Seasonal swings, older controls, and unpredictable climate conditions pushed the operation to rethink its greenhouse strategy.
Recently, Dutch Heritage upgraded to Priva, transforming the way the greenhouse operates. The result? A more stable climate, improved crop consistency, smoother operations, and a greenhouse that finally feels fully connected.
What stood out most was not just the technology itself, but how everything now works together. Lighting, climate, irrigation, airflow, and energy management all operating as one integrated environment.
We sat down with Floris Breugem to hear the full story behind the transition, the challenges of upgrading while still producing crops, and what modern greenhouse control now means for their future.
