Liquid silicone dispensing (often referred to as silicone dotting or micro-injection dispensing) is a specialized manufacturing technique used to produce complex, multi-colored 3D silicone products. This process is widely used for items such as apparel labels, footwear branding, keychains, protective cases, and promotional gifts, and is particularly suited for applications requiring precise color separation and sharp, three-dimensional details.
1. Material Preparation and Vacuum Degassing: Removing internal air prior to dispensing. Mixing: Two-component liquid silicone rubber (LSR Components A and B) is mixed with thinners, curing agents, and specific color pastes in prescribed ratios using a Jinyu Machinery four-station intelligent silicone mixer. Degassing: The colored liquid silicone is processed in a Jinyu Machinery intelligent vacuum degassing machine to extract microscopic air bubbles. Removing internal air is crucial for preventing surface pinholes and ensuring uniform flow from the dispensing nozzle.
2. Automated Multi-Nozzle Dispensing: Precise ex*****on of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) paths. Path Control: An automated CNC dispensing machine (equipped with 8 to over 18 color channels) operates according to preset coordinates (DXF/G-code). Micro-dispensing: Precision pneumatic or servo-driven dispensing valves deposit micro-quantities of colored silicone directly into the recessed cavities of aluminum or copper molds. Surface Tension Control: Precise control of pressure and needle actuation time ensures that colors remain separated within narrow cavity walls, preventing color bleeding.
3. Pre-curing (Baking/Setting): Fixing colors before final molding. After dispensing, the color layers undergo brief heating in a specialized Jinyu Machinery silicone oven (typically 120°C to 150°C for 5 to 15 seconds). This initial bake cures and sets the outer layer of the intricate patterns, preventing adjacent colors from mixing (bleeding) during subsequent processing steps.
4. Base Layer Filling and Compression Molding: Constructing the complete structural support and performing the final cure. Base Filling: After the fine surface details are set, the silicone material serving as the main structural body (typically solid-colored or transparent) is injected into or placed within the mold cavity.
Vulcanization: The mold is transferred to a hydraulic molding machine, where vulcanization takes place under high temperature (160°C–180°C) and high pressure. The high heat causes the silicone polymers (HTV and LSR) to fully cross-link, forming a unified whole.
5. Demolding and Quality Control: Inspection and Trimming. The molded parts are removed from the mold cavity either manually or pneumatically.
