Instructions for the use of gypsum plasterboard VII. 1. Gypsum boards should be transported vertically and not lifted horizontally. When stored, they should be placed horizontally with at least 3-4 support strips; in the open air, attention should be paid to moisture and rain prevention to avoid affecting the quality of the gypsum board and causing deformation. 2. Light steel joists used in construction should comply with the requirements of GB/T11981-2008 standard.
3. Since the longitudinal strength value of gypsum plasterboard is more than twice that of its transverse strength value, when installing gypsum plasterboard ceilings, the long edge of the plasterboard should be installed perpendicular to the length direction of the secondary joist. Otherwise, it is extremely easy to cause deformation of the ceiling, as shown on the right. 4. Gypsum plasterboard ceiling projects should be constructed in accordance with the standards of GB50327-2001 "Code for Construction of Residential Decoration Engineering". 5. For specific installation data of light steel joist gypsum board ceilings, please refer to the National Building Standard Design Atlas 07CJ03-1 "Light Steel Joist Gypsum Board Partitions and Ceilings". 6. For humid areas and locations with relative humidity β₯70%, the spacing between secondary joists should be 300mm; during construction, dry and ventilated measures should be taken; when applying putty, the second coat should only be applied after the first coat has completely dried, to prevent excessive moisture absorption and deformation of the board in one go.
