That’s why more developers are paying attention to:
👉 IIC (Impact Insulation Class) ratings for flooring systems.

IIC is an ASTM-based rating used to evaluate how effectively a floor-ceiling assembly reduces impact noise transmission.

In simple terms:
✔ Higher IIC value

In the U.S., many residential building codes require a minimum IIC rating of 50 between dwelling units.

A customized Protex SPC flooring system has been tested by SGS-CSTC according to:

• ASTM E492-25
• ASTM E90
• ASTM E2179

Test result:
🔹 IIC 69 — exceeding typical residential code requirements.

It is important to note that IIC ratings are measured based on a complete floor-ceiling assembly. Actual acoustic performance may vary depending on the subfloor structure, underlayment, and overall building construction.
