1. Intelligent Raw Material Feeding :
GPPS granules, HIPS granules , nucleating agent (talcum powder ), are precisely mixed in a high-speed homogenizing mixer. The closed vacuum feeding system automatically transports the blend into the first-stage extruder hopper, ensuring dust-free, continuous, and stable material supply.
2. First-Stage Extrusion & High-Pressure Blowing Agent Injection :
The material is plasticized and melted under precise barrel heating and high-shear screw mixing. At the high-pressure melt zone, an environmentally friendly physical blowing agent (butane gas or LPG ) is injected via a precision metering pump , fully dissolved into the PS melt to form a uniform single-phase system.
3. Continuous Non-Stop Melt Filtration :
The melt passes through a screen changer , removing impurities, coke, and unplasticized particles without shutdown. This ensures melt cleanliness and prevents die clogging.
4. Second-Stage Cooling & Homogenization :
The melt enters a large-diameter second-stage (cooling) extruder. The barrel is precisely cooled , stabilizing melt pressure and uniformizing temperature. The deep-screw design enhances mixing, optimizing conditions for fine cell nucleation.
5. Die Extrusion & Instantaneous Foaming
The homogenized melt is extruded through a die with uniform flow distribution. Upon exiting the die lip, pressure drops sharply, causing the blowing agent to vaporize and expand. Uniform closed-cell structure forms around nucleating agents, creating a continuous PS foam sheet embryo.
6. Cooling and shaping :
The extruded foam sheet is threaded onto a sizing sleeve, where it undergoes rapid cooling and solidification via air and water cooling; this process sets the sheet's shape while simultaneously enhancing its structural strength, after which it is slit to achieve its final sheet configuration.
7. Haul-off:
The sheet, having undergone cooling and shaping, is conveyed by a haul-off machine at a constant speed to achieve the required sheet thickness.
8. Automatic Winding & Tension Control :
An automatic tension winder rolls the sheet into neat, tight rolls. Tension is auto-compensated as roll diameter increases, avoiding loose winding or deformation.
9. Quality Inspection and Packaging :
Finished rolls undergo inspection to verify their appearance, thickness tolerance, and expansion ratio. Products that pass inspection are labeled, weighed, and packaged, after which they are moved to the warehouse for storage.
