JS45 Motor Garage & MOT Centre We are time served mechanics. We undertake all vehicle servicing, repairs, MOT preparation and motor sport tuning and prep.

We also do more specialised tasks such as DPF fault diagnosis and cleaning service and diesel engine tuning. We also offer state of art vehicle diagnosis with the help from our vast collection of various computer hardware including Delphi and Launch systems keeping us at the forefront of fast moving technology.

Transit Connect with dpf problems and management light illuminated.

Most would blame dpf ( diesel particulate filter) but this problem shows the blocked dpf is because of a fault up stream.

Fault codes pointing towards blocked dpf and faulty airflow meter……….. no
Air flow meter working overtime due to intake air leak in basic terms.
Now to pinpoint air leak intake system, not visible by feel, sight or sound.
Smoke machine to the rescue and system pumped up with smoke.

Following the lights infront.

This week a Transit tipper with many changing faults reported via warnings on the dash but only when the trailer lighting was plugged in!!!
After replacing the damaged tow bar plug still a few problems remained.
More investigating, checking all plugs and wiring the length of the chassis, problems were found to be in the control unit located inside the cab, this seems to have had water ingress due to the wiring been poorly fitted through its lid, this upsetting the seal.
A new unit and plug fitted and all lights ship shape.

Letting the rain water into Toyota pick up.
After a few hours investigation the leaky seam was found.
A sprung spot welded joint was allowing water to enter the cabin area and was resealed in the heater box below the windscreen.
Top results with no more damp carpets and steamy windows.

Get every last mile per gallon, lets face it with the cost of filling up considerably higher at the minute here are a few things to get the most from your motor vehicle.
Motorbikes, car, vans and campers.
Check regular tyre pressures, oil, coolant levels and finally give the fuel system a treat by adding some DC Lubricants Ltd additive.
Our own vehicles get this monthly whether petrol or diesel and return great mpg.

Sweet smell of summer.

Air con bombs instock here at JS45 Motor Garage & MOT Centre, camper vans booked in for mot’s soooo it must be summer soon.
The aicon bomb will freshen up your heater system, kill bacteria and get rid of staleness from the long winter.

Slightly back to basics.
Car with no parking sensors!!
Booked in and a quick check of the sensors located in the rear bumper. Not a great deal to see there BUT no distance recorded off them checked via diagnostics.

Whilst walking round I noticed no reverse lamps mmmmm that means no trigger for reverse sensor system.
Ok itll be a switch but after joining wires together and still no lamps I had to look further, bingo two broken wires.
Test not guess.
