Fitting panels at floor level, over baths and shower trays 🔧

Getting the finishing details right at floor level is key to achieving a clean, professional installation. Our video guide takes you through fitting panels at floor level, over baths and shower trays for a neat, watertight finish.

🔹 Always use the base profile when fitting panels over baths and shower trays

🔹 Finishing panels should go to the floor - Any flooring should ideally wrap up behind the base profile and panel, so it continues up the wall, approx. 100mm

🔹When installing the base profile, leave a 5mm expansion gap between the bottom of the profile and the floor

🔹 Apply Fibo Seal carefully to the base profile before fitting into position, then also attach with screws in the pre-drilled holes

🔹Once all panels are fitted on the base profile, remove excess sealant with our sealing tool and Fibo wipe, to help achieve a clean finish

🔹Then apply Fibo Seal between the bottom of the panels and the base profile, and apply Fibo Clean on the sealant, remove excess sealant with our sealing tool

🔹 Taking care with the finishing details goes a long way in helping achieve a professional result with Fibo

Clerkenwell Design Week Reflections ✨

Last week, members of the Fibo team, Dani and Chris, headed to Clerkenwell Design Week – and what a fantastic few days it was.

From exploring the latest trends in surface design and materials to connecting with industry peers, the event was a great opportunity to see innovation in action. Clerkenwell once again proved itself as a hub for creativity, collaboration and forward-thinking design.

It was particularly inspiring to see the continued focus on texture, natural finishes and practical design solutions – all areas that align closely with how we approach product development at Fibo.

Events like CDW are a valuable reminder of the importance of coming together as an industry, sharing ideas and discovering new ways to push design forward.

A big thank you to everyone who made it such a positive and inspiring experience – we’re already looking forward to next year!

Sealing the Aqualock Joint for Total Protection 💧

Sealing the Aqualock joint and finishing cut edges properly is key to a long-lasting, watertight Fibo installation. Our step-by-step guides makes the process simple from start to finish.

🔹 Make sure the Aqualock joint is clean and free from dust using a Fibo wipe

🔹 Apply sealant only to the male part of the tongue and groove system

🔹 Join the panels using a Fibo Grip, with a slow rocking motion

🔹 Remove any excess sealant with Fibo Clean and the Fibo Sealant Tool, then finish with Fibo Wipes

🔹 Clean all cut edges thoroughly with Fibo Wipes

🔹 Apply Fibo Seal along any visible cut edge using the Fibo Sealant Tool, repeating the same cleaning process

Installing the base profile 🔧

Preparation makes all the difference, discover our handy video guides to help you along the way.

🔹 Start by ensuring that any bath and shower trays are level

🔹 Measure the length of the walls where you will place your base profiles, using a hack saw cut and mitre the corners of the base profile to the required lengths

🔹 The distance from the floor to the lower edge of the base profile should be 5mm

🔹 Inside corners can be adjusted by cutting one base profile at 45° at the back edge, meeting the exterior corner

🔹Clean with Fibo Clean, followed by Fibo Seal, ensuring it is level before screwing into place, leaving a 5mm gap from the lower edge to any shower trays or baths

🔹 If using Fibo panels for a full wet room, there should still be a 5mm gap to the floor – but the membrane needs to be at least 100mm up the wall from the floor

🔹 Use a wrapped Fibo Seal to remove any dust that may have accumulated between the panel and profile as well the tray, before applying Fibo Seal to above and below the base profile

🔹 Be sure to use Fibo Clean to remove any excess sealant across the area

Installing the first and middle panels 🔨

Once the hidden internal profile is in place, the next step is to start fitting the panels. This video shows how to correctly install the first and middle panels, helping to create a smooth, accurate result with a clean professional finish.

🔹 Ensure the first panel is cut to size and fitted plumb for the best possible start

🔹 Apply sealant to the click lock and any cut edges before positioning the panel

🔹 Secure the panel carefully in place, following the recommended fixing points for a stable installation

🔹 Continue with the middle panels, making sure each one clicks neatly into place for a seamless finish

🔹 Wipe away any excess sealant to leave the installation clean and ready for the next stage
