Steve Cooper’s BDH engine has finally made it to the dyno. This engine will be fitted to the Peter Baldwin special saloon tribute car. All engine and dyno adapter wiring was made by GP Systems. Looking forward to the complete car coming back to us for some extra wiring additions and modifications.

This is a dyno adapter loom that was created to connect to the engine loom of Steve Cooper’s new BDH engine (for the Peter Baldwin tribute spaceframe). Also included is an extension cable for the crank sensor. This will be a temporary solution until I can modify the engine loom.

Not the weekend I had hoped for! A small error of judgement during qualifying resulted in me hitting another car. So, for that, I got a five place grid penalty and three points on my race licence. A bit harsh, but it seems to be the norm these days.
The first race was going well until I got sideways on oil dropped by another car. I lost a lot of time and eventually ended up finishing in 15th place.
Race 2 started well until both of my engine stabiliser bars came adrift and I had to retire as the car kept jumping out of gear.
So now I have a shed load of repairs to do as well as finding time to do some “real” work. Next race is at Snetterton… if I can get it all sorted in time 😳

Some customer support today at Donington Park.
I recently rewired this car and fitted a couple of GP Systems products namely a CAN interface (for all the switches), and a 12 channel PDM. I’m happy to report that the car performed faultlessly during the 30 minute “Swinging 60’s” qualifying session followed by a 40 minute race.

Finished…

This CSCC racer came to me for a complete electrical replacement/enhancement.
Jobs included building a new fully sealed wiring loom using Autosport and Deutsch connectors. Dashboard and steering wheel updated to incorporate a GP Systems CAN interface for all of the switches. Power distribution was taken care of courtesy of a GP Systems 12 channel PDM.

These types of jobs are very labour intensive, and a lot of time is spent designing and planning the various installations. Also, unlike some other companies, I provide the customer with a full documentation package showing all of the schematics for their vehicle.

Now it’s time for a long overdue tidy up 😁
