Finally made it to Brownsea Island. I've been planning this trip for a while. We braved the stormy weather and rough boat crossing and I'm so glad we did. The rain stopped about an hour after we arrived and we almost had the island to ourselves. The lighting wasn't the best but this soggy little squirrel came out to play and posed perfectly.

I've been visiting The Manor for around 10 years now and it's really where my wildlife photography journey started. I've spent a lot of time there over the years including searching for owls. I knew there had to be some there as the habitat is perfect, but never had any luck spotting them. I've changed my search strategy recently and yesterday, finally, after 10 years, I spotted my first tawny owl there at The Manor. Sitting high up in a tree, quietly watching the world go by below. I took a few shots then left him to get on with his day. Meanwhile, for the rest of my walk, I couldn't stop smiling!
