Circular hospitality just got a playbook. And we’re in it!

Developed by Reassemble Studio together with The Sustainable Restaurant Association, the Sustainable Spaces Playbook is an industry-first guide to more circular, commercially viable hospitality fit-outs. Think responsible sourcing, low-impact materials, repairability and designing with end-of-life in mind.

At Smile, we’ve always believed discarded materials have huge creative potential, and it’s brilliant to see recycled surfaces recognised as part of the future of design-led hospitality interiors. Being part of this collective really does make us smile.

Launch event at Tate Modern, Wednesday 3rd June!
📍 Level 1 Members Bar, Blavatnik Building
🗓 10am–12:30pm
🎟 Free. Industry only. Limited to two spaces per business.

Hear from Chantelle Nicholson, Michelle Pollard-Smith and David Chenery on the panel too.

For on-site teams shaping hospitality spaces, including owners, GMs, designers, sustainability leads, procurement and landlords.

We believe waste is full of potential. From discarded plastics and packaging to textile waste, we transform what would be thrown away into beautiful, durable surfaces.

Because better materials mean a better tomorrow.

Two Cultures, One Vision.

Located in the heart of Bucharest, Rather Two is an intimate 80m² apartment designed by partners Anca Lungu (DORON Atelier) and Kelvin Silva (OMAMBO). Drawing from their distinct cultural backgrounds, the home brings together Romanian craft traditions and references to Angolan landscapes, creating a layered domestic space shaped by contrast and materiality.

Our recycled plastic materials play a considered role in the interior. Brecon forms a bespoke storage unit that anchors the living room, while Quarry appears as shelving in the bathroom and kitchen. Durable and low-maintenance, the materials add subtle texture while embedding circular design into the fabric of the home.
