Bronze Prairie is a journey across golden hour. Vast, sunlit grasslands where warm earth tones stretch beneath a glowing sky, this curated collection sits between grounded and glowing. Earthy browns hold the composition steady, while burnished bronze catches the light like fire and forward motion. Like a horse crossing a sunlit horizon, the palette moves with quiet power, untamed and commanding. Fitting, for the year of the fire horse.

Most material decisions start long before anything is specified.

A saved reference. A texture you keep coming back to. Two finishes you'd never thought to pair, until you saw them side by side.

Swatchbox gives those early ideas somewhere to go. Save the materials you discover into project collections, review the product details for each one, and order samples to see how everything works together in your hands and in your own light.

Samples from multiple brands arrive in one returnable box, with one tracking number, free for design professionals. When you're done, send them back and they're ready for the next project.

A pattern that looks perfect on a sample card can feel completely different across four walls.

Our UK-based Designer in Residence Naomi Wheeler treats wallpaper as a starting point rather than a finishing touch. She builds a room's entire color palette from a pattern's quieter tones, uses bold prints to make small spaces feel immersive instead of cramped, and reads how natural light will shift a wallpaper's character before she ever specifies it.

Her thinking on scale, pattern hierarchy, and working with (not against) a room's light is worth the read if wallpaper is part of your next project.

What happens to design samples after the project ends?

Across studios, stacks of tiles, fabrics, and finishes quietly pile up, destined for drawers instead of reuse. Swatchbox Second Life Samples® is changing that.

The industry’s first fully circular sampling program makes it simple for designers to return, reuse, and repurpose materials. Because sustainability shouldn’t stop at specification.

Eight decades on, mid-century modern still tops the wish list. Not because it's trendy, but because it works: warm timber, low-slung furniture, a room that pulls you in rather than asking you to admire it from the doorway.

UK designer Naomi Wheeler puts it simply: it gives a space a members' club quality, without the exclusivity. Just considered.

In our latest read, Naomi walks through why the aesthetic endures and how to bring it into a home properly: the case for walnut and teak, where travertine and cork earn their place, why leather ages better than most upholstery, and how low lighting does more for a room than any amount of square footage.

If you're specifying for a residential project this season, it's worth a read.
