Amazon have become the standard bearer when it comes to on time delivery and customer-centric information. Customers are now expecting this same level of service from small businesses who have to use third party couriers to distribute their goods.
With the growing pressures placed on our staff, we’ve had to create systems to pass similar levels of delivery information to our customers. It has come at a cost to us at IBRAN and to our local courier partners’ staff, fielding these calls. Sometimes customers just can’t make sense of pallet networks, how they operate and what all the information means. After all, it’s not everyday an articulated lorry turns up at your door. Nothing triggers anxiety in a tradesperson more than not knowing when your materials are going to arrive, even if the supplier knows that it’s all going to plan.
Today we break the extended chain of communication and put this simple info in the hands of the customers, to help them manage their own expectations. We have built our own tracking portal, using data provided by THE Pallet Network Ltd and applied simpler formatting so that domestic customers can follow their deliveries and adjust their expectation levels themselves.
Within our in-house order management system, customers now receive a tracking link upon dispatch which translates the complex workings of palletised freight networks into simple, Amazon-like order updates.
So now, from the factory floor, to hub, to site, you now know exactly what is happening with your delivery.
