The Great British Jaguar Day at Bicester Motion was a wonderful celebration of one of Britain’s great motoring marques. We were privileged to spend time with fellow enthusiasts, owners and friends, sharing stories and enjoying the rare sight of so many significant Jaguars brought together in one place. This special occasion was made possible by Chris Harris and Friends.

Our display included two C-Types - both of which had received silverware at the 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Joining them were two significant XK120s, one being ‘MGJ 79’ - an early alloy-bodied roadster which was the first XK120 to cross the finish line at Le Mans in 1950, beautifully prepared by our friends at CKL Developments. Completing our display was the ever-popular XJR-15.

Chris Harris took to the stage and was joined by David Brabham, who shared stories from the Jaguar Inter-Continental Challenge, his time competing in North America, and his career in Formula One. Afterwards, David fired up the XJR-15, much to the delight of the crowd.

Thank you to the owners who allowed us to share these special cars with such an enthusiastic audience. We’d also like to thank Guy Broad Spares who awarded the XK120 as ‘most desirable straight-six car’.

The Aston Martin Vanquish S is one of those cars that leaves everyone who encounters it shaken and stirred. The 520bhp V12 purrs graciously at idle, but when you press on the accelerator, it certainly growls away.

This particular Vanquish S benefits from a manual conversion, which was done by Aston Martin Works, utilising the six-speed gearbox, clutch, and switchgear from the V8 Vantage.

Finished in the must-have specification - Titanium Silver paintwork over Phantom hides, the eleven-spoke alloy wheels, heated front seats in a 2+2 configuration, and a quilted headliner, this must be one of the finest first-generation Vanquish’s in the UK.

The moment the Jaguar XJR-15 came to life…and Chris Harris was caught slightly off guard.

The recent Bicester Scramble offered a rare chance to see, and hear one of Jaguar’s most extraordinary cars ahead of The Great British Jaguar Day on 23rd May.

Launched in 2021 as Ultima’s flagship model, the RS was designed around one idea above all else – maximum driver engagement. This example takes that philosophy to the extreme.

Weighing just 930kg and powered by a 755bhp Chevrolet LT5 V8, this rear-wheel drive Ultima RS delivers performance on a level few contemporary hypercars can match. Equipped with a manual gearbox, it combines immense pace with an entirely analogue driving experience – capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in just 2.3 seconds and from 0-150mph in under 9 seconds.

Finished in white with silver forged wheels and a black interior, the car presents in near-new condition. A one-owner example, it has covered just 50 miles from new.

Despite remaining unregistered, the car is fully road legal and can be registered for road use in its current form, with no modifications required.

Unlike many lightweight track-focused cars, the Ultima RS offers genuine usability too, with a fully enclosed cockpit, excellent visibility and easier access thanks to its gullwing doors.

Included within the sale is a nearly new PRG Prosporta Monza twin-axle enclosed trailer, making transport to circuits and events straightforward.

Available now at £149,950.

James was pleased to represent Pendine at the recent HCVA Heritage Matters Day at Brooklands, joining a panel exploring “Diversifying for success: adapting business to a changing market,” moderated by Wayne Scott.

He focused on Pendine’s recent evolution, from expanding into the modern and supercar market, to the launch of Curated by Pendine, our collection management service.

Both reflect a broader shift in how collectors engage with cars today, and the importance of adapting thoughtfully while remaining true to core principles. He also discussed how the market wide adjustment in values of older historic vehicles is a healthy trend, with the new prices helping younger generations access the cars.

The event was a valuable opportunity to contribute to the wider conversation within the historic car community, and to share perspectives with peers across the industry.

Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.

A phrase synonymous with motorsport, and one that felt particularly fitting for the Pendine display at the recent Sunday Scramble.

Pendine was proud to present a quartet of cars that tell the story behind one of the most iconic road-going Subarus ever built. Alongside the legendary Subaru Impreza 22B STI sat the very machines that shaped its DNA, including P18 WRC, P12 WRC and the championship-winning X20 SRT.

At the centre of it all, the 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STI, chassis 000 / 400. Originally delivered new to Nicky Grist, co-driver to Colin McRae during Subaru’s dominant World Rally Championship years, this car represents the ultimate chapter in that story.

It is understood that Nicky requested that the car have an uprated engine fitted, believed to be derived from a detuned WRC configuration. The result is something altogether more focused than a standard 22B, closely aligned in spirit with the works cars it sat alongside on Sunday and cars Colin and Nicky were accustomed to.

Just one of three prototype 22Bs built, the others being delivered to Colin McRae and David Lapworth, and having covered only 39,202 km from new, the car has remained largely out of the public eye for over 22 years. Its reappearance at Bicester marked a rare and significant moment, bringing together Subaru’s road and rally heritage in a fitting way.

Built to celebrate Subaru’s 40th anniversary and its third consecutive World Rally Championship manufacturers’ title, the 22B has long been regarded as the definitive Impreza. Examples with this level of provenance, originality and direct WRC connection are seldom seen, and on the rare occasions they do surface, tend to be placed quietly and with discretion.

If you’re looking to add a special piece of JDM history to your collection, we would be pleased to hear from you.

A particular highlight from yesterday’s Scramble at was welcoming , the world’s only competitive racing team of all-disabled drivers. Their BMW M4 GT4 drew a crowd as and ran through a live driver change before firing the car up.

We were delighted to see the team spending time with Motorsport UK on site, capturing content for an upcoming feature – a reminder of the wider stories and people behind the cars.

Scramble events are always about more than just what’s on display. The atmosphere, the community, and the shared enthusiasm make them what they are.

Thank you to everyone who came by – stay tuned for more Scramble content.

The next Sunday Scramble is just around the corner.

We are looking forward to a special one, celebrating 100 years of the Technical Site, honouring the important history of the former RAF Bicester which we are fortunate enough to call home.

Pendine will be presenting an eclectic display – from a Subaru Impreza celebration, to a selection of cars including the Aston Martin Vanquish, DB4, Ferrari 330 and Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing.

Elsewhere across the site, two Jaguars – an E-type and XK120– will form part of the Great British Jaguar display, with further highlights expected throughout the day.

We look forward to seeing many of you there.
