Just a reminder that the last food bank is TONIGHT (Wednesday 1st April) instead of the usual Thursday opening.
Tonight's session will be held from 4:30-6pm through the main church doors and we will be joined by Christians Against Poverty, Burnley Together and Burnley Community Grocery.

Padiham Parish Food Bank would like to announce that our last Food Bank session will be on Wednesday 1st April. We are proud to have served the local community for five years.

We started working out how many parcels we were giving out in 2022 and overall from then until now we have distributed over 5700 to help people through difficult times.

Our volunteers have worked tirelessly to provide this service, and we want to thank them for their help and support to keep the food bank running for so long. We have not had any paid members of staff, which at times has made things especially challenging. Our volunteers have done what they have done around work and other commitments.

We’d also like to thank everybody who has supported the work of the food bank – local businesses and organisations, funders, churches, schools and residents in our community. We have always appreciated your kindness and couldn’t have done it without you.

As we wind the service down, our last sessions will be as follows:

Thursday 19th February at the rear door of St Leonard’s Church 5-6pm.

Thursday 5th March at the rear door of St Leonard’s Church 5-6pm.

Thursday 19th March at the rear door of St Leonard’s Church 5-6pm.

Our last session will be on Wednesday 1stApril (not Thursday due to Maundy Thursday) 4.30pm-6pm through the main church doors in the Green Room. At our final session we will have Christians Against Poverty, Burnley Together and Burnley Community Grocery.

We will have two tables at the Padiham Green jumble sale on the 14th of June with proceeds of our sales going towards our food bank. The event is raising money for Padiham Green primary school and will be held at the town hall in Padiham. Please visit!

Very grateful to Shuttleworth College and their fantastic group of students for raising money for our food bank!

A group of year 9 students who are on the Set for Success programme, met with a volunteer from Padiham Food Bank, Melissa Barber, to donate £70.00 which they raised during one of their projects.

Mr Mahmood and Charlotte Hartley (the group leader) were immensely proud of the students who asked some very good questions and were told about the great work and service the food bank provides.
