Things you didn’t expect our homeware and hardware store to sell: Part 7!

We’ve officially moved into one of the quieter months of the year, so here’s your reminder of all the things you use on a daily basis that WE SELL! From your bin bags to your white vinegar (my hero!), we’ve got lots of pick me ups that you need, but make all the difference to our end of day totals. We’ve just had a huge restock of Miniml products and we always have EcoLiving natural cleaning ingredients in too.

Just a wee reminder that every little helps, and you don’t need to apologise for only spending a few pounds. That’s what we’re here for! ❤️

I practise what I preach when it comes to buying furniture - even when it’s for the shop - and I’ll always wait for exactly the right thing to come by way before buying new or building something extravagant.

I’ve spoken before about needing storage for our bits and bobs, and to a certain extent we’ve managed to get homes for most things. The last few bits have been a struggle though and many of you who have bought screws will have seen the awful behind the curtain setup that tends to see us all searching for 10 minutes to then charge you 50p at the end of it all.

Nevertheless, I’m a firm believer in the right things coming your way when you take your time, and when these Serota drawers landed on my FB Marketplace, I knew they had to be mine! Cue a complete reshuffle of the shop, and a Sunday of sorting for Dani Knox (PUSH Design Store). We’re very nearly there, with a few more tweaks to come. Thanks to Margo Mc Daid for filling the blank wall space left at end of it all with our very own OCA dog!

LONDON, we’re coming for you!

This Saturday, I’m packing up our best vintage selection and heading to Our Stokey Market. We’ll have vintage entertaining items, trinkets, and a few of our signature toolboxes so that you can get ahead on your festive shopping.

Everything we did at Our Curated Abode during September from counting 2805 hooks to celebrating the final Vintage Trail of the year.

Other highlights included painting a plate at Minnie-Mae Design Studio’s gorgeous shop (can’t wait to get this back!) and a brief trip to London Design Festival to soak up some inspiration.

I’m really excited for October and the lead up to Christmas - things are in the pipeline!

It’s your last call for the last Vintage Trail in Ramsgate this weekend. Join us on Sat 26 & Sun 27, 11am - 5pm, for secondhand homeware, fashion, art, records…

The weather looks good, the vibes will be high! You never know what you will get. I somehow still end up with a pile from leaving my shop for all of five seconds!
