Hercules takes centre stage in this 1922 PUDLO advert.

Depicted carrying out a concrete crushing test, he's certainly taking product testing a little more literally than most. 💪

Beyond the eye-catching illustration, the advert references testing carried out at University College Cork and by David Kirkaldy & Son, highlighting the importance of independent verification even a century ago.

It's a fascinating snapshot of how PUDLO was communicating technical information nearly 100 years ago. Some things have changed since 1922, although thankfully most laboratories now use compression testing machines rather than Greek demigods.

We’re getting behind our own Emma as she prepares to take part in the Cambridge Shine Night Walk for Cancer Research UK on 17 October. ❤️

This is a cause very close to Emma’s heart. Last year, her dad was diagnosed with stage 3 prostate cancer. Thankfully, he is doing really well, but two more people within Emma’s circle have since received the same diagnosis.

Emma wanted to turn these experiences into something positive, so she’ll be putting on her walking shoes and completing the walk to support vital cancer research.

Working alongside our experienced CSSW technical team, you'll support projects from specification through to completion, helping clients deliver successful structural waterproofing solutions across the region.

✔ Holds a CSSW qualification (or is working towards one)
✔ Has experience in structural waterproofing
✔ Enjoys building strong relationships and providing technical support
✔ Is looking to make a real impact within a growing, technically focused business

🏅 Better late than never…

Back in May, Steve Herring flew the flag for PUDLO in the Walk in May Challenge, organised by Christeyns.

And he certainly didn't do things by halves…

Steve clocked up an incredible 300+ miles during the month – walking further than anyone else taking part in the challenge! 👏

We finally caught up with him in the office this week to present him with his very well-deserved medal.

He walked into the office… and made sure he walked out with his medal! 🏅😂

A brilliant achievement – well done, Steve! 👏

What a tournament it’s been!

A huge congratulations to Simon from Linfit Developments and Rory from TSM, who both drew Spain and are our 2026 PUDLO World Cup Sweepstake winners!🏆

The response to this year's competition was fantastic, so to give everyone the chance to take part we introduced multiple team draws – which meant we ended up with two lucky winners when Spain lifted the trophy.

Another important milestone for PUDLO.

We're pleased to have successfully achieved CQMS Bronze Accreditation together with CQMS Enhanced Designer Certification for our design support services.

While accreditations don't define the quality of our work, they do provide independent verification of the systems, competence and processes that sit behind everything we do.

For our customers, it offers additional confidence that they're working with a business committed to quality, compliance and continual improvement—supporting waterproofing and gas protection designs in accordance with recognised British Standards.

One year on...

A year ago, PUDLO became part of the Oscrete and Christeyns family.

Twelve months on, our Managing Director, Gary Laird, reflects on a year defined by collaboration, integration and building strong foundations for the future.
