A Saturday with a few out the ordinary problems.

A Mercedes with ‘fail to start’ caused by a faulty electronic steering lock, this requiring removal and specialist repair and coding.
Unit reconned and lock and keys reprogrammed, jobs a peach and car starting.

Next is a Astonmartin Vanquish were the PARK button has been pushed through the dash centre panel.
Not a five minute job to gain access and retrieve the parts of the switch from deep in the centre consul.
Pieced back together and dash carefully clipped back in place, the light cream leather cleaned of any grubby marks and hey presto fixed.
A grand day for a Saturday with a few tyres and Mot’s in between.

A winning feeling!!!!!
When you open the customers door, drive car into workshop to replace the brake discs, then look down in the cup holder to see the locking wheel nut key……….. bingo its like winning a prize, if only all folks left them out!

Were is the maddest place your customers have stored their key???
, we have had them at home in draw!!!

A stroke of bad luck.

Mixed fortunes here at JS45 Motor Garage & MOT Centre during last last few weeks.
Tech Scott and his partner Alex are so happy to announce the arrival of a slightly early and small baby girl Wren, what a little gem, we wish them all well and much happiness to come with her.
Secondly father John has been off resting after a poor day three weeks ago were he suffered a small stroke.
He was forced away to Berwick Docs were he was looked after and stabilised .
He was sent to Cramlington, and has made a 95% recovery and is taking it a bit easier for last few weeks.
But a massive thanks to for all the get well wishes, cards and gifts.
He’s well on the mend and just taking it slow.

A broken bonnet catch cable does not end at fitting the new cable.

Whilst the vehicle owner was trying to open the bonnet to fill there washer bottle the cable snapped.
Not a great problem I hear you all say!!!!
To get the locked bonnet open the VW badge is removed to try and gain access.
Once in there the next thing that is removed was the radar, at this point the alarm bells ring a little because now it will require an ADAS calibration.

This simple job has now become a whole lot bigger, in price and effort required, the modern motor car, is it a step to far these days.

Calibrate and repair of mot equipment.

Busy day today working alongside Mike from M&M Garage equipment.
Mike arrives every 6 month to carry out our compulsory DVSA calibrations, he checked the brake testing rolling road and head lamp beam setter.
Whilst here we replaced the jacking beam hydraulic pump.
All great and no down time being a Bank holiday…… thanks Mike great service as usual.
