Our Quiz Night returns on Friday 19th June. An evening of great questions, wood-fired pizza, cocktails and a raffle, all here at the yard.

This year we’re raising funds for Sally and Danny, who both need ongoing specialist farrier and remedial shoeing. It’s not cheap at around £300 per pair each visit, but it keeps them comfortable and doing what they love.

Tickets are £25 for adults and £12.50 for under 16s. Members discounts apply. Available online and from the office.

CAN I RIDE IN MOREAID SQUISH PADS? 🤔

No.

Predominantly it is important to remember WHY they have been applied. This is a rehabilitative orthotic for hooves needing intensive care and respite. And, whilst your horse may have had a miraculous turnaround in their levels of comfort and gait improvement, the foot still needs time to heal and recover.

Whilst they are preferential over hoof boots for recovery due to their unique deformable sole and the avoidance of rubs and repeat removals/reapplications, they are NOT a hoof boot. Most hoof boots on the market are designed for riding. The Squish Pad is not. It doesn't need the grip required for a mountain hike, or the rigidity that would make it outlive a 100km endurance ride because that is not it's purpose. It's purpose is to provide 24/7 comfort, whilst engaging and supporting the natural biomechanics of the hoof for RECOVERY.

And, yes, for some people this may mean your horse needs some time out. Discuss with your veterinarian and farrier, and remember, rest can do no harm. The happiness, soundness and longevity of your equine is the priority.

For horses ready to recommence work we have a number of composite glue-on options available to transition into - some of which have a bar/frog piece made up of the same "Squish" as standard or we can bespoke manufacture.

What an absolute pleasure it is to provide Bourne Vale Stables with our remedial farriery services!

A BHS and ABRS approved riding school in Aldridge nr Walsall (WS9 🇬🇧), Bourne Vale have a couple of horses with specific hoofcare requirements and they endeavour to make sure each horse gets what they need as an individual. It is great to see equine welfare so paramount.

Sally has navicular disease and has responded well to the support our composite shoes offer, allowing her to continue moving well comfortably.

Danny has an autoimmune condition that affects the quality of horn he grows. Having previously suffered infected hoof cracks, the non invasive and supportive yet flexible structure of our glue ons have protected the hoof whilst allowing stronger, better quality hoof to grow down.

Does this trigger your pad alignment OCD? STOP. 🛑

An absolute master of his craft, Peter Peers Farrier's attention to detail is exquisite.

Using a wedged pad, Pete tailored the package to address a medial-lateral imbalance, caused by some minor hind issues that were overloading this fore limb.

Over time he has reduced the level of wedge, whilst maintaining a level landing and equal loading of the capsule, adjusting orientation as required, as the hoof continues to get stronger and reach a new normal.

He's also paired that with a familiar favourite, our MoreSport shoe.
⭐️ Designed especially for use on multiple surfaces such as modern artificial surfaces, grass and roads.
⭐️ Features a wide toe to act as a floatation device to stop the foot going into artificial sufaces too deeply, encouraging the foot to stay on top of the surface thus preventing injury
⭐️ Front shoes feature two wide heels known as onion heels which provide lateral support and stablisation to the limb. The hind shoes feature a longer inside heel and a wider outside heel, addressing the common differences and requirements of hind limb support.
