Based in York and Driffield, we sell and hire a vast range of power tools and accessories from all major manufacturers, and offer repair services for a variety of tools and appliances in our workshops. Our business was established by Claude Elcock in 1971 when he realised that professional trades people in Yorkshire needed a greater level of choice and service for their tools and equipment than w

hat existed at the time. He insisted that Elcocks would offer its customers: unparalleled technical know-how, enabling them to make informed choices from the many different types of machinery and equipment available; guaranteed levels of support and back up for their purchases, - in particular power tools; tools, equipment and services that offered the best in choice and value for trade professionals. Our business has grown substantially over the years and we now have branches in York and Driffield selling top brand power tools, hand tools and accessories including Hitachi, Makita, Bosch, Milwaukee and Trend. We remain a family business with members of the second and third generation of the founder’s family still actively involved in the day to day running of the business and readily accessible to customers. Originally the business traded under the name Elcock Power Tools, reflecting the increased choice of the latest power tools that Claude Elcock wanted to offer the customer. Today, while we still stock an enormous range of power tools from leading manufacturers, our range of products and services has expanded massively to meet the changing demands of the market.
