We are continuing our efforts to break the boredom of the lockdown. The Wild Flight
In episode 8 Sammy finds another peculiar bird, it’s a Waldrapp Ibis from Turkey and he has a very interesting story to tell. The wide use of pesticides in the 1950s decimated the Waldrapp populations in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. And now there may be less than 500 left in the wild and 1,000 in zoos. We would be grateful if you would share this post for us, who knows how many people need a break from babysitting.

'Scout of the yard' has reached episode 9 in an instalment named Baked off

Friday is traditionally baking day and Scout enjoys watching Mrs. McGowan as she prepares a fresh apple tart for the weekend. She normally leaves the tart to cool at the open window in the farm kitchen. But this week there’s no tart, and Scout is convinced someone has stolen it. He starts his investigation in the kitchen where he notices a trail of crumbs coming from the worktop and follows them out into the yard it leads to the goat pen. This time he is sure he has the goats banged to rights..

Sammy the Squirrel continues to visit his friends as he keeps sneaking into the zoo. This is episode 4 in which the tapir gave Sammy a very good tip; she told him the wolves come from lots of different places. And this would be a good opportunity to learn lots of different languages in one go, such as Latvian, Lithuanian and Polish. But she did warn Sammy that wolves aren’t the most approachable of animals. Sammy finds this out for himself in episode four as we keep the supply of children's radio shows on our especially created website www.voicesfromireland.com. Free babysitting for those who need it and entertainment who need it for themselves. It would be marvellous if ye could share this in case somebody among your friends or family need stress relief. Stay safe everyone.
