CHEF JOB VACANCY

LOCATION: Eron Hotel, Kirinyaga Road; Nairobi CBD.

MAIN PURPOSE
To plan, organize and present food and beverage services of the hotel in the right quality and quantity, right time and right temperature thereby meeting client’s expectation, hygiene standards and financial targets.

JOB DESCRIPTION
-Prepares food as required
-Responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen
-Ensures all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet the kitchen’s specifications and commitment to quality
-Assists with menu planning
-Ensures kitchen and storage areas are kept clean and organized

REQUIREMENTS
-Relevant working experience as a professional cook/chef
-Experience in stock keeping and record keeping
-Food and beverage experience is an asset
-Customer service and communication skills
-Resent health/medical certificate

Eron Hotel is offering internship opportunities to young, dynamic and ambitious graduates who want to get a head start in their hospitality career. The internship will allow you to experience the Eron Hotel culture, learn our standards and gain exposure to various areas of Eron Hotel.

Existing Internship opportunities;

1) Receptionist (2) Day and Night;

The Receptionist/Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the Reception Desk area, ensuring that all guests are attended in a friendly and professional manner. The position will also provide administrative support to other hotel staff. If you understand the importance of a proper welcome and know how to offer an exceptional hospitality experience, you may be just the person we are looking for to work as a Team Member.

2) Catering intern (1);

As an intern in our catering internship program you will be responsible for providing regular culinary services for over 30 people. Our catering interns will have the opportunity to apply their skills and culinary talents in a young, friendly working environment. You will have the chance to enhance your managerial abilities, through learning how to manage the kitchen, organize the stock and cooking schedules.

Minimum qualifications

For our catering interns, we appreciate prior work experience in the field of catering and food preparation

To have a versatile and adaptable range of culinary skills

Provide a unique style of service towards traditional and contemporary dishes

To make schedules and menus for the week ahead so we can organize all the required ingredients and plan ahead

To be able to keep a cool head in a high-pressure kitchen environment

Have a keen eye and a good attention to detail

Be passionate in your work

Upkeep of kitchen. (Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety)

3) Sales and Marketing Interns (2)

Eron Hotel is looking for qualified interns to join our sales and marketing team. This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of sales and marketing.

Job Requirements:

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and administrative skills

Excellent computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Writing and proofing skills are also required.

Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames

Organized, dependable and detail oriented

Team Player with a cooperative spirit
