BREAKING: *President Tinubu Snubs Wike, Backs Lieutenant Yerima, Military*

November 13, 2025

By Amaechi Okoro

(DDM) – In a surprising political turn, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has openly declared his support for Lieutenant A.M. Yerima and the Nigerian military, after a reported clash between the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and senior naval officers in Abuja.

According to DDM correspondennt Amaechi okoro, President Tinubu’s statement came on Wednesday following mounting public tension over Wike’s confrontation with naval personnel guarding a disputed area in the Federal Capital Territory.

In a firm message, Tinubu emphasized that the Nigerian Armed Forces remain the cornerstone of the nation’s stability and sovereignty.

He reportedly stated, “Our military men and women put their lives on the line daily to defend the sovereignty of this country. They deserve respect, not conflict.”

Sources close to the presidency told DDM that Tinubu’s position was intended to reinforce civil-military harmony and discourage political officeholders from undermining the discipline and chain of command within the security structure.

According to insider reports, the President was particularly displeased by how the altercation between Wike’s convoy and naval officers escalated into a public scene, drawing widespread criticism across social media.

Political analysts say Tinubu’s open backing of Lieutenant Yerima sends a strong signal that military personnel performing official duties will not be intimidated or publicly disrespected.

The presidency, through a senior aide, reiterated that “every branch of the Armed Forces is working under the President’s command, and any misunderstanding must be addressed through proper institutional channels.”

This development follows viral videos of the FCT Minister reportedly confronting naval officers over land ownership in Abuja, an encounter that has since ignited nationwide debate about power abuse and civil-military relations.

Supporters of the military flooded social media with messages hailing Lieutenant Yerima for his composure during the confrontation, describing him as a “true officer and gentleman.”

Meanwhile, several civic groups have called on the federal government to investigate the incident thoroughly to prevent future occurrences that may undermine national unity or disrespect uniformed men.

As reactions continue, DDM notes that President Tinubu’s latest stance could mark a definition moment in how civilian authorities relate with military institutions under his administration.

Observers believe the President’s message to is clear: discipline, respect, and national service come before political ego.

Stop using ‘slash’ when writing dates it’s a small habit with big consequences

Most people don’t think twice before writing dates like this: 12/10/25.

To them, it’s simple 12th October 2025.
But to someone else, especially in another country or context, that same date reads as 10th December 2025. One simple slash and your document suddenly carries two possible meanings.

Now imagine what that confusion means in a contract, receipt, agreement, or court document.
A wrong or unclear date can distort timelines, shift obligations, and even render a document void for uncertainty.

For example:
🥢 You agreed that payment would be made on 12/10/25, but the other party insists it means December 10, not October 12.
🥢 You signed a tenancy agreement dated 05/06/25, but one lawyer reads it as 5 June, another as 6 May.

When the dispute arises, the judge won’t assume the ambiguity will be interpreted against the person who wrote it. This is why lawyers are trained to avoid slashes and abbreviations in formal writing.
Instead of “12/10/25,” write it clearly as:

👉🏽 12 October 2025, or
👉🏽 October 12, 2025.

The law values clarity over convenience. It doesn’t care that you “meant” one thing it only interprets what’s written on the page. Every date in a document establishes a legal timeline: when an agreement began, when payment is due, when rights expire, or when penalties kick in.
That’s why a wrong or unclear date doesn’t just look sloppy it can cost you money, credibility, or even ownership.

When drafting or signing any document l even a simple one take a few extra seconds to write the date fully in words.

It’s not old-fashioned. It’s precise.
And in law, precision is what saves people from painful mistakes.

Don’t rush your pen. A single slash can create a legal storm. Write your dates clearly your future self will thank you.
