Earlier this month the American Polymers Network suffered the loss of one of it's valued team members, Charles Walters. He is survived by his wife, Victoria, his daughter, Shawna, his son, Michael, and two granddaughters.
Charles spent over 40 years in the polyurethane industry, working in manufacturing, formulation, and sales. His knowledge and experience made him an invaluable colleague and mentor and spent his time in our Polycast division.
A true people-person, Charles built lasting relationships and was known for his ability to fix anything—and for his humorous take on doing it better. He had a wide range of skills and stories that left an impression on everyone he met.
He loved golf and saw it as a game of self-improvement, often saying, “You never play against anyone but yourself.”
Charles will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Born and raised in California, Ryan brings a unique perspective as a fourth-generation Japanese-American and third-generation Mexican-American. In 2025, he successfully led APN’s participation in 39 trade shows, managing everything from logistics to on-site ex*****on with exceptional precision. As temperatures soar this summer, it is critical to stay informed and prepared for extreme heat conditions.
A few Do's and Don'ts:
🔹 Drink water throughout the day, approximately 8 oz every 15-20 min.
🔹 Don’t choose sugary drinks (soda, juice, sports drinks), energy drinks, or alcohol instead of water
🔹 If you are outside, find shade and wear loose fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothing
🔹 Wear a hat to cover your face and head
🔹 If you work outside, try to avoid the hottest part of the day (approximately 3–4 p.m.)
🔹 Take frequent breaks in the shade or in air conditioning to rest and hydrate

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our esteemed colleague, Rafael Sandoval, on Friday, June 20, 2025, in his home country of El Salvador.
Rafael served with distinction as Sales Manager for the Latin America territory, joining Polycoat in 2011. Over his tenure, Rafael consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, technical acumen, and unwavering dedication to the American Polymers family. He was instrumental in advancing the strategic reach and technical excellence of our high-performance polyurethane and polyurea solutions across a diverse and demanding region. Rafael’s expertise, integrity, and commitment to supporting both colleagues and customers made an impact on our operations and the broader community.
His contributions to the advancement of safe, innovative, and sustainable chemical solutions will endure as part of our organizational legacy. Rafael exemplified the highest standards of our industry—upholding safety, environmental responsibility, and customer service at every turn. His warm presence and technical insight will be greatly missed.
We ask you to join us in holding Rafael and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
