It’s been months since I’ve sewn anything. It’s been sooooo looooong. I’m way out of practice- my sewing area looks like a tornado swept through (I’m usually pretty methodical about my work space and diligent about cleaning up as I go). But, today I was all over the place. I kept losing things and had to redo a few steps. But this wallet was just going to be for me, so I did it and I’m happy with the results!

Trying to get my sewjo back. It’s been sloooooooww going. Why? No clue. I love sewing. I love making things that make people happy. But, I sit down and start sewing and then give up after a while. So I’ve decided- I project at a time. That’s my new mantra. And this is what I made for my 16yo daughter who chose all the materials. The pattern by is the perfect small project to get the sewjo going. I’m hoping to make a few more during the rest of my Spring Break. We’ll see...

I LOVE the way these quilt blocks came out!!

This is my version of the month 2 for the . Jess mentioned in her video that these quilt blocks are perfect scrappy projects. And boy, was she right! All the pieces from these blocks were cut from fabric that I’ve used to make some of the bags I made in 2020. What a great way to remember how far I’ve come as a crafter/sewist!

Tried something new today- quilt blocks. I haven’t been sewing at all lately. I’ve either been busy with life or paralyzed by the state of the world, so there hasn’t been much time for sewing. Today I set out to make these quilt blocks because making a quilt is one of my goals for 2021. Jess over at has a that is coming to an end, but I’m just starting. Thank goodness her videos can be watched whenever the mood strikes. These blocks were fun to do and I played with the placement of the pieces so that each of the blocks were a little different. The fabric was gifted to me by someone I know who was cleaning out her house. It was the perfect fabric to practice some new skills!

Happy New Year friends!

I hope that all of you had a fun evening last night. My family spent the evening watching movies and playing games, then tow of us made sure the yell “Jumanji!” while the rest yelled HNY. We wanted to cover our bases. 😉

As this new year begins, I just want to thank you all for supporting my crafty endeavors. I hesitate to call it a true business because I’m still working a “real” job. But, who knows what 2021 will bring. For now I’m going to challenge myself to learn new things and more regularly. I’m excited to see where this thing takes me and I hope you and your friends follow along💛.

And, now that my have all gotten their little gifts, I can finally share the cutest little wallets I’ve made, courtesy of another pattern (the ) by .

I made three little Pocket Pals with vinyl from and fabric straps I had in my stash. It’s an awesome scrap buster and uses very little hardware! It was an easy sew, even if you’re a beginner, with the video has on . You can find the pattern for the Pocket Pal on Lindsay’s shop.

As an addition to their Pocket Pals, I added a little 2020 gnome ornament made by local artist . You can check out more of her work on her website- www.SamanthasDoodles.com.

I’m no bag designer!

My 8 year old had this cute little bag that was purchased at one of those girlie stores in the mall ages ago. She probably got it when she was 4 or 5 because she wanted a purse to hold her lovey and found things.

Today she was playing with it and I asked to see it. I studied it for a little bit and then told her to choose some fabric and hardware. She chose this fun fabric from my stash and some shimmery green fabric to match for the lining. And, no bag is complete without hardware. It’s not a perfect bag. Especially since I just created a “pattern” FB you tracing the old bag. But, my girl was so excited that I made her a bag that it made all the trial and error worth it.

Christmas gifts ✔️

This trio of Heidi Foldover Bags (by ) is the last of the Christmas orders I had to complete. My friend ordered one for herself and her daughter, and another for a special family member. I love the colors of this fabric! I have a few tiny gifts I want to make for my own people and then I can start sewing some quilt blocks that I’m interested in learning.

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

The last couple of months have been pretty busy for me. Which meant that not a lot of sewing was happening on the regular. Especially when you throw in motherhood, a new job (virtual), a death in the family, and the beginning of this weird holiday season- there just wasn’t a lot of time to get sewing. I’ve also been trying to sew up a few pieces for gifts which I can’t really post or I’ll ruin the surprise.

So, here are a few items I can show off. I’ll also be posting some items that are available for purchase later in the week, for any of you looking for some gifts/stocking stuffers. If you’ve seen something you like already, email me at [email protected].

I hope this doesn’t start a riot!

I bought this fabric ages ago and didn’t want to cut it until I found the right pattern. Spoiler alert- I found the right pattern. I turned it into a crossbody bag with an adjustable strap. I love it so much! I’m pretty sure I won’t be the only one to love it.
