ECK and I collaborated to make a signature cocktail - the “Wandering Emerald” made with lemon and gin 🍹

The event is completely FREE to attend and open to the public; each vendor will be charging for any items they have for sale.

The best piece of travel advice I can give is to stay in bed & breakfasts and inns as much as possible. Why? They are full of charm. Hospitality. History. And usually some truly delicious food. Plus you get the perfect chance to chat with the owners to learn about local hidden gems.

This also means that I’ve stayed at several inns throughout my travels. Some haunted. Several historic. All charming. But one of the absolute best bed & breakfasts I’ve ever stayed at? 1897 Beekman House Bed and Breakfast in the Finger Lakes. From the incredible owners to the beautiful decor, the scrumptious breakfasts to the friendliest inn dog, staying here felt like coming home.

Located in Dundee, New York on the western shores of Seneca Lake, 1897 is owned by Lilly & Greg DeForest-Campbell (and Lola!). The building is steeped in history and they cook some of the best breakfasts I’ve *ever* had at a b&b.

There’s a new bubble tea café in Liverpool and it’s ADORABLE. ’s owner Sue invited me to come check it out and let you know what they are all about.

🌟There isn’t much signage due to the landlord’s restrictions, so make sure to save the address: 629 Old Liverpool Road (located in one of the new Lemoyne Manor apartment buildings)

In addition to bubble tea, they have a full menu featuring hibachi, gyoza, edamame, etc. by far my favorite thing in the menu is the Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken. It was super moist with a crispy coating of Chinese spices that were so delicious.

Sue enjoys adding new things to the menu. The latest? The viral Japanese fried cream sandwiches and tiramisu mochi donuts.

I also love a mystery box, so of course we got our drinks in the bubble tea cups that have hidden plushies in them!

Summer has officially kicked off in Syracuse with the first big foodie fest of the season: ! This 2-day festival has always been one of my favorites because nearly 80 local food vendors offer $2 samples of their most creative dishes, so it’s the perfect chance to try a little bit of everything. I highly recommend going with a few friends to split up waiting in lines and then you can also share and sample even more food!

The heat got the best of me today, so I didn’t stay as long as I usually do. Nonetheless here is what I tried:

Themed dinner in a speakeasy & a night at the theatre make for the perfect summer evening. [sponsored, but genuinely a favorite!] Whether for a date night or a girls’ night out, this is truly one of my favorite ways to spend an evening.

Start with a themed dinner at in the Armory, their speakeasy downstairs at their downtown Auburn location. A $45 prix-fixe menu includes an appetizer, entree, and cocktail. But of course we opted to add dessert for $7 each.

After dinner it’s a short drive over to the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse at Emerson Park, on the shores of *Owasco* Lake. I have to admit that I’m lowkey obsessed with this theatre. Its circular shape, wooden beams, and globe lighting give it such a unique and cozy vibe. Plus it fits a smaller audience of around 500 guests. I also love that you can go outside to get some fresh air while you visit the bar duringThe REV Theatre CompanyEvery show with at Merry-Go-Round is purposefully designed, staged, and choreographed for that specific theatre. The shows during the Rev’s seasons are not your typical traveling productions.

The best kept secret? If you’re under 40, you can call and get tickets for just $40 to one of the first three nights of each performance.

A Bronx Tale is currently running through June 20. The remaining shows for the 2026 season include:
Tarzan - July 8 through July 25
Carousel - August 12 through August 29
Rock of Ages - September 16 through October 3

As a foodie who also loves games, I enjoy any chance I get to gamify my food or drink options. Plus, I tend to be rather indecisive, so a die making a decision for me is even better. There are now a few places where you can roll for a drink in Syracuse if you're feeling lucky.

Whenever I travel to a new place, I search for local haunted places. I always find them fascinating and filled with such incredible stories. Luckily, when I traveled to the of Cattaraugus County, there were two great haunted locations - Hinsdale House and .

Originally used as a private holistic hospital and then a tuberculosis clinic, the building has a lot of sordid history. Visitors are invited to join in history tours, ghost tours, and paranormal investigations. Guests may even rent the property overnight!
