Here is another corner of my daughter’s (old) bedroom... I may or may not have switched my kids’ bedrooms exactly one year ago 🙈, and this was how Olivia’s nursery looked before it became my son’s room. This space has such a dear place in my heart, though, that I figured it still deserves the light of day here where it will live on until Instagram changes or my account gets hacked…! 🤣

Anyway, this room was pieced together with furnishings that I already had, including my grandmother’s dresser and a vintage kilim rug that is perfect for a little girls room!

Looking for the perfect gift for everyone, young and old? Books are always a great idea!! They last through the years and are often cherished by the whole family. Added bonus: they can easily be passed on to someone else to enjoy and they are far less likely to end up in a landfill than a plastic toy or trendy gadget. As I’m currently buying presents for the holidays, I am reminded that the majority of these wonderful books on my daughter’s shelves were given to us by family and friends. 📚

Our clients acquired this for the spectacular view of the river outside. Once we got our hands on the interior space and added millwork to the walls, changed the paint color, covered the carpet with a rug, brought in new lighting, drapes, furnishings, and art, their primary bedroom now matches the calmness and beauty of the view outside (in our humble opinion 😊). I could go on and on about how our incredible tiler and carpenter followed my plans from across the country to a T, ensuring that the grout lines match up exactly with the placement of the faucets, sconces, mirrors, and vanity, but I’ll stop right there and let the image do the rest of the talking... Tall, sloped ceilings (12 feet, to be exact) and a masculine, slightly vibe continue in the Primary Bathroom of our project. The massive 3 x 4 feet steel-framed mirrors are right at home on the expansive, tile-filled wall that greets you as you walk in. The long room allowed for a substantial, custom-designed vanity, which we topped with a beautiful Calacatta Colorado marble. The homeowners and I knew it was meant to be when we spotted several areas of TEAL-colored veining in this natural stone!! You will see blue-green tones running throughout this home, as they are a favorite of ours and the homeowner alike! ☺️

We designed all interior aspects of this new build (including it’s five bathrooms, kitchen, all lighting/flooring/millwork/hardware, etc.), and it was such a joy to source all new furnishings, too! With the exception of this desk and desk chair that the client already owned and wanted to keep for this particular spot in their main bedroom. We started working on this project in late 2017 way before “work from home” was such a commonplace thing (even though I’m just now sharing photos of the project 4 years later…! 🙈). I am glad my clients had the foresight to utilize this fantastic spot to work from, as I’m sure it’s coming in quite handy these days! 🙃

To finish off this stunning nook, we kept things minimal and let the architecture really shine. We gave our clients a handsome rattan cabinet to tuck away not-so-handsome office supplies, a striking chandelier to emphasize the incredible height of the space, the tallest blackout drapes we’ve ever had made for a client, and we added a faux wood beam around an otherwise drywall covered beam for added warmth, texture, and character and to once again draw your eye up to the grand scale of the ceiling.

It may sound crazy, but living in Savannah we get more use out of our screen porch during the fall and winter than in the spring and summer... It’s simply too hot and humid for most people to enjoy it during the summer. Now that it is mid-October and starting to dip below 80 degrees, 🙃 it’s just the start of porch season for our family!

Spent the whole day prepping a client’s house for a photo shoot tomorrow, which meant I was on my feet nonstop and did a lot of schlepping. Can’t wait to sit down and relax for a moment. This chair in another client’s house would be the perfect place to plop my rear end right about now!
