My client just purchased a new home, but her primary bedroom only had a 6 ft wide reach in closet 😱 So she decided to have me design her a custom Glam Room with a Vanity, in one of her spare bedrooms.
•
That room had a reach in closet inside so we decided to to convert that closet to her shoe closet.
•
Fast forward to today- her closet is unpacked and organized! 👏🏻 Now she has a place for every hat 🧢 , shoe 👟 , purse 👜 jewelry 💍 and make up 💄 she shared “now it’s so easy getting ready as it’s all in one room!”

If you recall this past spring break we stayed local and spent some time editing down my kids closets.
•
I edit all our closets bi annually- spring 🌼 and winter ❄️ which correlates with my daughter’s (May) and son’s bday (Jan)
•
When you have a bday you receive new items. Additionally when the seasons change you may purchase new necessities.
•
Pictured in this post- my daughter’s “make shift vanity” had one after which broke, but it was not sufficient in storage and organization.
•
So we used her bday gift card to grab this simple organizer, with drawers, from since she receive new things she needed to organize them 😃
•
Now each drawer is so perfectly organized-
1.) jewelry box (rings croc charms, earrings🪞
2.) watches, sunglasses 🕶️
3.) make up + lip + nails 💅🏻 care
4.) hair ties, scrunchies
5.) blankets for her bed 🛏️
6.) wall organizer decluttered down to head bands, necklaces, and bracelets only

I of course showed my daughter her new set up and asked her do you need 🏷️ ? She said no mommy it’s easy 😃 🤗

It’s easy to get caught up in the holiday craze of wish lists, shopping, cards, etc! Wondering did I get them enough, or I hope they like it, or I hope my kids feel I treated them equally… 😩
•
Try not to focus on those things, but instead try-

1.) gift only what you know they really need & will use
•
2.) gift an experience vs material items
•
3.) give without the intentions of receiving 🫶
•
4.) gift a photo album/frame photos of past experiences
•
5.) cook a meal or baked goods
•
These things help take the pressure off your plate, they can be more cost effective, and they are most certainly from a place of L O V E 🤍

If it’s a hot mess…it’s ok you have time to fix it!

1.) take it all out
2.) sort by category
3.) check for any expired items
4.) clean off the shelves/drawers/baskets
5.) measure and shop for any new containers
6.) place items back into place, 🏷️
7.) consider par levels leave room
8.) make a list and go shopping 🛒
•
If you know you need more space because of the holidays- consider designating an over flow space like your Garage and store items into air tight containers or a fridge/freezer.
•
