Came across an amp that needs a new home. It is a 1974 silverface Twin in all original condition except for the speakers. Those have been changed from the Fender Utahs to a pair of Celestion GK100s. It comes with an ATA road case made by keeley cases that is in GREAT condition. The asking price is $1500 for the amp and case. PM for more info if interested!

I have started taking my frett finishing to a whole new level of smooth!! After a complete fret level and dressing, I polish the frets with a standard nickle/chrome polish compound. But now after THAT, I come back over them with a new secret weapon!! Lets just say there's a reason women LOVE diamonds!!! So bring you frets to me and I will make you look at your guitar neck like your girlfriend looks at a jewel case!

So here is the truth about shielding an electric guitar: It will block or shunt most EMI (electro magnetic interference) or also referred to as electrostatic meaning noises not made by your pickups... so if your pots, wiring, cables, pedals, amp, or whatever are picking up noise a good shield will ground that noise. The problem that remains is the pickups still receive this noise in the same way they pickup string vibration... SOOO if 60 cycle hum is LOUD from your single coil guitar, a good shielding won't stop it, merely reduce it in a small amount which is why most guitars don't come from the Factory filled will shielding tape. In most cases grounding the metal parts of the guitar is plenty of shielding. So the next step in hushing these pickups with out changing the properties of them is to use a "dummy coil". This is a pickup with no magnets, just a coil reverse of the actual pickup to cancel the hum.

I am a single coil kinda guy!! Even with high gain rock tones, the sweetness and definition of a single coil is awesome! The HUM on the other hand is NOT AWESOME! So I am gonna dedicate a little time to researching/developing easy and accessible ways for us working players to shut up our strats, teles, and p90 guitars!!! Hopefully soon I can offer some fail safe solutions to noisy guitars!!

Working On a neck for my Buddy Nick Gibson and he has an awesome idea to replace the black dots on the maple fretboard with maple dots that match the fretboard only the grain running opposite of the neck so they can only be seen up close!! Now for executing this idea... The only maple dots I have found are laser cut and have really dark edges and that would not give the desired look, so I am gonna use a plug cutter, some maple hobby wood and a whole lotta careful to cut my own!! I can't wait to see how they turn out, if they work the way we are thinking, they will be "ghost" dots!!

Well this is a first, got a set of sperzel tuners for a guitar and the barrell nuts didn't fit so there was no way to install them. Gave sperzel a call and they had me send them back to see if they can remachine them or replace them. Seems like they are on top of it!

The work bench has a few on deck, mostly telecasters, waiting for some new frets and some attitude ajustments! Looking forward to making these guitars come alive!!
