Modern design doesn't age when it's done right. 🏡

This recent build featuring -Bloc pavers and walls is proof. Sleek textures, cool tones, clean lines, materials and details that feel sharp today and will still look intentional a decade from now.

For contractors, that's the real sell:

- No design fatigue. Clients stay in love with the result long after the project wrap.
- Low-maintenance, high-durability materials that protect your reputation
- A finished space that photographs well now and holds its value for years

Modern isn't about chasing what's trending. It's about building with enough confidence that the design never needs to apologize for itself. 💪

A walkway takes more abuse than a patio and gets half the design attention.

Aberdeen from -bloc pairs a slate look with Klean-Bloc™ protection built into the unit, so the path to the door still reads well after a season of boots, bags and stroller wheels.

On a spec, the built-in protection is the line that saves you the callback about a stained front walk.

Large-format slabs can make a space feel cleaner without making the design feel empty.

Blu Grande from -bloc works especially well on walkways, patios and pool surrounds, where the larger format creates broad, uninterrupted surfaces with fewer visual breaks.

Contractor tip: with large-format slabs, pay close attention to transitions, edges and cuts. The cleaner the layout, the more intentional the finished space feels.

Swipe to see Blu Grande used across two very different outdoor spaces.

Where do you like using large-format slabs most: walkways, patios or pool decks?

Fall patio checklist 🍂 A little care now keeps your pavers looking great after a Pittsburgh winter:

1. Sweep or blow off leaves. Wet leaves stain pavers and trap moisture.
2. Pull weeds and moss out of the joints.
3. Top off low joints with polymeric sand so water can't sit and freeze.
4. Fix low spots or loose edges now, before freeze-thaw makes them worse.
5. Seal your pavers on a dry day to protect against water, salt, and stains this winter.
6. Clear drains and point downspouts away from your patio and walls.

We carry SEK Surebond PolySweep and HydroSweep joint sands, SB-4000 water repellent and salt blocker, and more at our Oakmont yard, 423 Plum St, Mon–Fri 7 AM–3 PM. Call 412-676-3152 and we'll help you pick the right products for your patio.

Some walls take decades to develop character. Röcka from -bloc has it from day one. Its fossil-stone texture brings the look of naturally aged stone to a double-sided block, giving freestanding garden walls a finished face from every angle.
