One of the things I’ve realized as my kids get older… managing house keys is a nightmare.

Keys get lost. Codes get forgotten. Someone always gets locked out at the worst possible time.

So I swapped our side door over to the new Lockin Veno Solar , and honestly, the palm recognition might be my favorite feature. The kids can get in without carrying a key or remembering a code, and it’s been surprisingly fast and reliable in everyday use.

Install was straightforward, and the solar charging is a huge plus for me. This door gets a good amount of sun, so I’m not constantly thinking about battery life or pulling the lock apart to recharge it.

Feels like one of those upgrades that actually makes daily life easier instead of just adding more tech for the sake of tech.

They’re also running an Early Bird promo right now — pay $1 and get a $120 discount. Details are on their website lockin.com.

First off I’d like to congratulate myself for not running the over myself. But also, I’m giving up on the digital ones. Go magnetic all the way. The Kreg Tool one is easy, affordable and is foolproof.

update and state of the union. HQ is about a weekend of organizing away from being back and operational. Thanks for the patience! Also, please excuse the mess, I’m still shocked at how much stuff I was able to put into that old tiny shop. You’d think it would be easier to find space for it all in a bigger shop.
