US First Robotics Team 3044 Follow the progress and accomplishments of the Ballston Spa High School Robotics Team 3044. It’s as close to "real-world engineering" as a student can get.

Welcome to the FIRST Robotics Competition

The varsity Sport for the MindTM, FRC combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 25 students or more are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of compet

itors. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Students get to:
Learn from professional engineers
Build and compete with a robot of their own design
Learn and use sophisticated software and hardware
Compete and cooperate in alliances and tournaments
Earn a place in the World Championship
Qualify for over $18 million in college scholarships

For the second year in a row Team 3044 0xBe4 is going to Houston. We went undefeated during qualifying and chose a great alliance. We had problems so had to sub out but our alliance powered through and made a great run. Congratulations team. You did it!

This team continues to impress the coaches and mentors with their enthusiasm and willingness to help any team that needs it. We are ranked 2nd out of 60 teams going into the final day of qualifying. We are also currently ranked 20th in NYS out of 153 teams!!
