Safety comes first at Big Creek Lumber. Today we celebrated our logging and forestry teams at a safety BBQ.

Big Creek Lumber is honored to celebrate Jim Busick’s 44 years with our team as he heads into retirement!

Over more than four decades, Jim wore a lot of hats: sawmill, Davenport retail yard, forklift/load builder, counter and contractor sales, inventory, and wholesale/production sales. A career highlight was learning the wholesale side under Lud McCrary, who Jim says had the biggest impact on his time here and who he still misses every day.

What he’ll miss most: his coworkers and customers. His advice to new hires: enjoy the job and stick with it, this is a company worth growing with.

In retirement, Jim’s looking forward to traveling with his wife and spending more time with their grandkids.

Thank you for 44 years, Jim! 🪵
