Tips to Keep Your LCo Tung Oil Fresh and Long-Lasting

Want to keep every drop of LCo wood oil stays as potent as day one? Here are a few simple tips:

🧴 Unopened Bottles or Cans
Store in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight. Properly stored, it have an almost indefinite shelf life
💧 Once Opened
Product may thicken or form a skin; this is normal due to oxidationa and won’t affect its quality

To extend opened product life, consider:
✔️ Transfer to a smaller, airtight container to minimize air exposure.
✔️ Add a puff of inert gas (like CO₂ or argon) after each use to keep oxygen out.
✔️ Keep it away from heat and sunlight.

Make sure it’s dry and sanded up to 400 grit for a smooth finish. This helps the oil soak in evenly.

2. Apply Thin Coats
Use a cotton cloth, short nap roller, or applicator pad. Keep your layers thin and light.

3. Be Patient Between Coats
Let each coat dry fully — 6 to 8 hours — and sand lightly before the next. Two coats are best for lasting beauty.
