Congratulations to Enrico Deysel (TUT) on receiving a commendation award, and a huge congratulations to Keanan Cantor (UFS) for taking the overall win👏

The competition was incredibly close this year, with talent, dedication, and creativity shining through from every participant. A true showcase of hard work and passion from start to finish.

We’re proud to announce our guest speaker for the 39th Student Awards

Joining us this year is the Founder of GASS Architecture Studios, a visionary leader whose work continues to shape the architectural landscape and inspire the next generation of designers.

Having such an influential name in architecture as part of this celebration is a true honour, and we can’t wait to welcome Georg as part of our afternoon dedicated to creativity, innovation, and emerging talent.

We’re excited to introduce our third esteemed judge for the 39th Corobrik Student Architecture Awards, Warren Papier.

An Associate Director at KMH and a member of the Cape Institute for Architecture Management Committee, Warren brings a well-rounded perspective shaped by experience across both public and private sector projects. His portfolio spans education, retail, and residential developments, with additional exposure to projects across the African continent.

With a sharp eye for design and emerging trends, Warren is known for guiding teams to deliver thoughtful, high-quality spaces. Beyond practice, he plays a key role in shaping the industry through his position as Head of Marketing at KMH, driving the firm’s growth and presence.

Passionate about mentorship and education, Warren actively contributes to developing the next generation of designers, including his current role as a part-time lecturer.

We’re proud to reveal the second judge for the Corobrik 39th Student Architecture Awards panel: Adheema Davis.

A Professional Architect with over a decade of experience spanning both practice and academia, Adheema brings a powerful blend of critical thinking and conceptual depth to the panel. Her work is grounded in a commitment to socio-spatial justice, shaped by accolades including the Geoffrey Le Sueur Travel Bursary and the National Research Foundation Innovative Masters’ Scholarship.

From being selected as a Mandela Washington Fellow to contributing meaningfully through academia, civic leadership, and her directorship at Aluta Architecture, Adheema’s voice reflects a thoughtful engagement with land, memory, and decoloniality. Beyond architecture, she continues to inspire through her work in wellness and community development.

We’re excited to have her insight help shape this year’s awards.

The 39th Corobrik Student Awards are officially underway, and we’re proud to announce Claire McCusker as one of our three judges.

An Associate Architect at Architects & Urban Designers in Johannesburg, Claire brings deep expertise from a leading multidisciplinary practice known for delivering complex, large-scale projects locally and internationally. A Registered Professional Architect (SACAP), she is a member of SAIA and PIA, and holds a Master of Architectural Technology (Professional) from Tshwane University of Technology.

Claire has served as President of both SAIA and PIA, championing architectural excellence and the value of the built environment through leadership and media advocacy.

We’re honoured to have her insight and expertise shaping this year’s awards.
