Packaging Engineer
We are a Córdoba-based company working on challenging global projects. We are looking for a packaging engineer with experience in large object packaging to join our growing team. Position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, exciting and rewarding environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be creative, adaptable and willing to take on diverse projects.
Main Job Responsibilities:
• Provide package and crating engineering support for new and existing products, designing wood, cardboard, plastic and metal packaging for large objects, with a focus on efficiency, cost and sustainability
• Optimize packaging systems and design to minimize the cost of packaging components and improve operational performance, efficiency, and quality
• Work with internal engineers and designers to create and maintain packaging systems
• Prototype packaging samples for evaluation and testing
• Calculate environmental impact of packaging
• Create and maintain component specifications, assembly instructions, and crate assembly instructions
• Support and/or drive packaging process analysis and improvements (e.g., specification tools and templates, metrics, configuration management tools, supplier requirements around specifications)
• Work independently under direction of Project Manager in collaborative setting
Skills & Requirements:
• Ability to understand and speak English required. Advanced understanding is a plus.
• Degree in a related Engineering field
• 1+ year experience in material packaging within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with the Imperial system and international packaging materials required
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with SolidWorks, Rhino 3D or other similar software
• Extensive experience with Excel and experience with other Microsoft Products
• Strong attention to detail required
• Desire to grow with company and take on additional responsibility
• Proactive, very organized and able to multi-task
• Critical thinker with positive attitude and good oral / written communication skills
