🏥 Melton in Victoria is getting a new hospital, and we're proud to play a role in this landmark healthcare project.

Siniat is supplying Weather Defence® air barrier board to the $900 million hospital, helping create a weathertight building faster so internal works can continue, even when the weather doesn't cooperate.

Ideally suited to healthcare environments, Weather Defence is non-combustible, vapour permeable (Class 4), and resistant to water and mould.

Scheduled for completion in 2029, the Melton hospital will feature 274 beds, a 24-hour emergency department, an intensive care unit and a range of additional services for the growing community.

It will also be Victoria's first all-electric hospital, powered by 100% renewable energy.

Did you know that Siniat’s timber nogging bracket makes installing in steel stud walls quicker, easier and safer?
The nogging brackets are made from galvanised steel and supplied in 2400mm lengths. They are made with the same 0.75mm thickness as Siniat’s nogging tracks and can be used with 12mm to 18mm timber when wide timber noggings are required behind the plasterboard to support face-fixed items, e.g. towel rails, handrails, cupboards etc.

✅Saves Time and Labour: Purpose-made solution that's easy to cut to the required length on site.
✅Improves safety: No need to pick offcuts from metal scrap to custom-make brackets as required

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) in Brisbane is being upgraded, and Siniat proudly supplied 4,000 square metres of Weather Defence to the project.

This major $619 million healthcare project will deliver a new five-level clinical services building, additional beds and wards, and expanded surgery and intensive care facilities.

For large-scale healthcare projects, keeping construction moving is critical. That's where Weather Defence – a rigid air barrier board with a gypsum core - makes a difference. It can remain exposed for up to 12 months, helping contractors maintain progress and keep internal trades working, even when weather conditions are less than ideal.
