Hume & Iser, a fourth generation, family owned company, has been an integral thread in the fabric of Bendigo for over 140 years. It has outlasted wars, the depression and in more recent times competition from multi-national hardware chains to become one of Australia's largest Mitre 10 Hardware store. From the slums of gold fever to beautiful streets of Victorian cottages and even our most famed heritage buildings such as the Town Hall and the Art Gallery came to life with the help and dedication of Hume & Iser. Always a progressive company, Hume & Iser is all about remembering the past and looking forward to the future. At Hume and Iser, you’ll not only get the “know how” on your home and building requirements, you’ll get expert advice and specialised service. Family owned and operated since 1880, Hume and Iser started as a saw mill, carting timber logs by horse and cart and selling some goods by the pound. The business has come a long way since and now incorporates timber, hardware, garden products and plasterboard.
