At Melgrand we have taken a great interest in architecture and design for over 15 years. Formerly known as Prestige Wall Systems and Rendex, our combined period of technical staff hands-on experience is over 70 years. We are architectural manufacturers and as such have a wealth of experience in devising solutions to everyday design problems. We are building industry generalists: we occupy an inter

section, we talk to homeowners, architects and engineers as well as a cross section of the most experienced tradespeople. As a result we have become quite good at solving everyday and more complicated design problems. Get in touch: we probably have at least one viable solution. Our team is spread across Australia to provide local inputs as to the suitability, the local preferences and local authority regulations. All this is designed to enhance the appearance value of various design options while complying with council restrictions. On any given day our products are being delivered across Australia. Our aim is to improve the look, feel and efficiency of client’s buildings in every state. Our head office is in Melbourne, which is arguably the architectural design capital of Australia. We are in constant touch with architects and design practitioners in every category of construction and home building. We are involved in originating, designing and fabricating building parts in a wide range of materials: precast concrete, lightweight fibreglass reinforced, fibreglass reinforced concrete, artificial stone, rendered lightweight elements. We manufacture a range of products in various categories: functional, ornamental, structural and decorative.

Melgrand has elevated its restoration process with new high-resolution 3D scanning technology.

Our team can now come to site and capture every intricate detail of existing ornamentation with sub-millimetre accuracy. This allows for precise, non-destructive documentation of heritage elements while preserving the original fabric.

Using these scans, we fabricate patterns and moulds back at our workshop, creating highly accurate digital replicas of heritage features. The technology also allows us to digitally refine or adapt elements to improve durability or suit altered site conditions, all while maintaining the integrity and character of the original design.

Blending traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology, Melgrand continues to push the boundaries of heritage restoration.

We’re excited to announce that we are working on the reconstruction of Luna Palace at iconic St. Kilda.

Melgrand has been appointed to design and manufacturing the theming to replicate the original architectural ornamentation, helping bring this historic Melbourne landmark back to its former glory.

There’s something special about manufacturing these theming elements right here in Melbourne to help to restore a Melbourne landmark building. Even more meaningful is the fact that the new theming is manufactured in non-combustible GRC and AS1530.1 compliant.

It’s a great opportunity to combine traditional design with modern performance and durability.

Melgrand is honored to have supplied the structure for The Pillar, a stunning new 4.5m sculpture by for the Frankston Hospital redevelopment.

Standing 4.5 metres tall, this isn’t just a monument, it’s a collection of over 800 stories.

Each handmade clay tile carries the fingerprints and marks of local residents, patients, and hospital staff.
For the Melgrand team, supplying the foundation for a piece that symbolizes healing and community resilience has been a truly rewarding journey.

Countless blockbusters like Thor Love and Thunder, Gods of Egypt and The Great Gatsby were filmed inside Stage 7.

On the outside, Melgrand replica GRC panels stand tall at over 20 metres, ornamenting Stage 7 at Disney Studios Sydney. Our GRC panels replaced the deteriorated reinforced concrete original panels, bringing new life to an iconic facade while preserving its character.

Our scope included a technical site visit to document the existing panels, prototyping, and manufacturing precise replicas in coloured GRC to match the original finish.

Built to last, these panels will stand witness to many more great films in the years to come!
