What do you do when your tools simply won’t fit in one box? 😵💫🚁
You split them into two.
For this Canadian commercial helicopter operator, we built a two-case toolkit, organised around how the tools are actually used.
🚁 Case 1: Most-used tools
4 layers covering the essentials: ratchets, imperial & metric sockets, inspection tools, screwdrivers & bit drivers, plus hammers, chisels, punches and files.
🔧 Case 2: Larger tools
4 layers for the bulkier items: two layers of wrenches, plus pliers, cutters & snips, a multimeter and cables.
The operator provides charter services, maintenance support and flight training across a fleet of single- and twin-engine helicopters, including Airbus, Bell and Sikorsky aircraft.
But this got us thinking: When one box isn't enough, how do you decide what goes where?
By application?
By most frequently used?
By weight?
Or by something else entirely?
What would you do? 👇
