In an ‘album’ on my phone, where I store pics of bits n bobs destined for your eyes.. I titled it ‘this thing’. I could have called it ‘folly’… that would work too!
(Of COURSE I know that’s it’s a gazebo… ) but these album titles can get as random as the objects that we pedal🙄

I digress.

Complete with new roof and flashing… beautiful complete set of balustrating, dimensions on photo 5 ➡️… aaaaand, we will be at it again tomorrow from 8-5, or Saturday 9-1, so if you have any questions (provenance etc) please call the yard 0435500112💙

We wish Helen Haines MP huge strength on her road to recovery.

Helen, you are an incredible inspiration, wise, kind, full of integrity and hugely authentic and open hearted with a ‘whole country’ approach to politics. So utterly shocked by this act of brutality from my old heartland.

Suffice to say NE Vic must be reeling this week.

I hear this sometimes… (and I’m sure we all have opinions on pricing… I’ve heard plenty) and it always gets me thinking… sometimes with a little indignation… but mostly with a nod of understanding around messaging.

‘When I win the lotto I’ll come and shop up big time at your yard’ 🙄

I realize… that if you purely follow us on social media you may think that we only stock high end materials… because that is generally what social media advertising has become. Why would we profile our piles of cheap materials?

Well… I realise that the messaging does indeed read that way!

We have supported soooo many entry level projects over the years. Folk collecting stuff to build tiny homes… share houses looking to fix doors… chook shed quality materials to keep foxes out… dogs in… and guess what? Over 7 acres… there is a price point for everyone… and ANYTHING you could ever think of at EVERY price range!

It’s true… from unique and rare timbers at the high end… to weathered and un-de nailed timbers at the bottom end. If you are prepared to put in the labour that we havnt, then we will sell it to you for the reflective price.
$20 door for your chook shed? Plenty of those!

So… never assume that just because you don’t see me advertising wall tiles at $30 m2 that we don’t have them… I need to get better at not just profiling the click baity eye candy… but throwing in the bits for everyone!

It’s worth coming for a rummage!

Our friend Tilly is selling her fancy kennel! She’s a very proud owner… has kept it in immaculate condition. It has many useful elements… the most understated being that the sides all open up entirely!

(But seriously… we’ve never seen a container like this… it’s super unique)
(Also… here is Tilly proudly cruising the salvage yard like the queen that she is with her human Camilo Demarco 💙 woof!)

Gah, another stunning Spring morning in Central Victoria ☀️☀️

And… here’s a funny story.
You know the one about the stuff that ‘fell off the back of the truck’?
Well… a little while back… the Salvage yard received an email about a container of Egyptian antiques that were sitting on the wharf uncollected by the purchaser (or something like that… details never seem that important 🙄)… could we clear customs and move them?

What better stock to fill the space newly created by our Auction?

This is a classic example of how desultory it can be running a small business like ours.
(You never know what’s coming, how big it will be, will it require cover or can it be put in the weather. Does it need racking etc)

Nonetheless… we are now the proud owners of an incredible collection of Egyptian doors, shutters, ironwork, vessels 😅

Reminder!! We are taking the loooong weekend off to celebrate our old mate Camilo Demarco as he clicks into his 51st year of wonderful existence 💙 And just to enjoy this fabulous weather (and probably cheer these amazing Ashcroft fellas as they run rings around the G!)

We’ll be open Thursday 24th.
But will be taking Friday 25th and Saturday 26th off!
(Not to watch a Freo and Bris GF probably) So that our staff can have a long weekend😍.

🙄🤷🏽‍♀️… we’ve been a little absent from our socials… it’s true!
And waaaaaay back in January… I said goodbye, as I headed off to play at Director of Mittagundi for a bit! (Which I did with a lot of joy, and kept that journey going Anna Winneke).
And… as is the nature of life in a very steep valley with no internet… the salvage yard fell to a little ‘media blackout’😬

BUT… that was fun and now I’m back… and we’re still here… with all the good things… and back on your tiny screens too!

So… HELLO EVERYONE!
It’s Spring… soooo much fun stuff here for projects (including a shipping container of incredible Egyptian doors and shutters!).
