Wicks Surf Shop Wicks Surf shop first opened its doors on September 9, 1975. The store is and always has been locally owned and operated.

It is the original “independently” owned surf shop on the Northern Beaches, and has a great tradition of being a “core” surf store specialising in Surfboards, Wetsuits Surf Hardware and Accessories. The store is located directly opposite the beautiful Collaroy beach - the beach responsible for kick starting many an amature and professional surfing career! This ensures our customers the best qualit

y advice, and service. Anthony “Wicka” Hardwick first started the shop focusing on retailing surfboards, having had grass roots in the industry, surfing for Geoff McCoy and working at his factory in Brookvale in the early 1970s. His slogan was very appropriate, “Surfers with the surfer in mind.”
In 1976 Wicka took on good friend Steve “Slackey” Ross as an employee and later on as a business partner. Steve has been working at the shop to this day and has 40 years' surf retail experience. wicks ad 1975Peter “Spud” Thomson, worked with Steve when he was a grommet and is the current owner of the store. Spud has 36 years surf retail experience under his belt. Being a “multi branded” store we offer all the best brands across all the categories we carry, so if it's variety you want, then we’ve got it! We are stocked from the floor to the ceiling with all the latest gear. We have the Northern Beaches’ biggest cross section of Surfboards, Wetsuits, Body Boards, Surf Accessories, Snow Gear, Mens’, Ladies’, and Groms’ Clothing and enough Fashion Accessories, Eyewear, and Footwear to cover you from head to toe!

He was the original owner of Wicks Surf but more importantly an amazing human. He was a mentor, a great boss, a huge part of the community and a friend to many.

Rest in peace Wick. You will be so missed.
